    Small STREAM FISHING - A Trip Down Memory Lane!
    For this latest episode we’re back with the ultimate trip down memory lane! Re-visiting and fishing some of the small streams and tiny bodies of water we used to fish when we were just young lads.
    Back then, 20+ years ago, we thought we were the ultimate pioneers, cycling out on our bikes to try and find any water where we maybe able to catch some fish. Species and size didn't matter, as long as they pulled our float under it's all we worried about!
    So to find out a exactly how we got on and if these small streams and venues still contained fish, then watch the latest episode from the waters edge…
    As usual we hope you enjoy it and any feedback is always much appreciated.

    As a boy growing up in rural Norfolk I fishes little farm ponds with my brother. I went back last summer but sadly most were dried up or people wouldn’t let you fish there now. A couple of streams were virtually dried up! I still fish small waters now for my channel as it is my favourite type of fishing. Regards Bill ps the beach fishing was great then, we even caught tope from Cromer pier!!

    I don't want to make the comments that have already been made but this is a great vid. Takes me back to going down the local small brook and fishing for small fish and trout with my brother. Great video, my very first fish was at my local park lake, during the 1950s, the tackle then consisted of a bobbin of cotton, a match stick for a float, and a size 14 hook bought for a penny, at my local tackle shop, bait consisted of bread and worms.. great memories.

    Recognised all them spots. There used to be huge shoals of minnow, gudgeon, and dace. A lot of the spots these days are private whereas used to be you could fish pretty much anywhere. I used to like fishing under elsing bridge or further up near the mill.

    Brilliant fun! I did something very similar a couple of years ago. I put a small telescopic rod in my pack and headed off on my bike to dip into the very same waters I would fish as a young lad; backwaters and hidden streams - free pockets of water not under the control of angling clubs where I could poke about for small coarse fish and even the odd trout.

  • @metubewot
    @metubewot 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd a 6 foot fibreglass rod and a homemade wooden reel. Filled with cutty hunk, cod line, and about 2 or 3 feet of nylon on the end. I fished in the little river Sark which forms part of the border between Scotland and England. I vividly remember catching a trout, about 6 or 7 inches long, but mostly eels, probably because of the lack of finesse. We'd be using 10 lb nylon and size 12 hooks. Talking of the late 50's early sixties. I can still remember how shiny the nylon was, but it hadn't been on the go very long, and it would also be the cheapest available. Still fishing yet though and still love it.

    Have many memories of fishing Horstead Mill pond with my Dad, hope to pass the hobby onto my little ones one day. I now live south of Norwich and struggle to find as nice of a place to fish, any suggestions?

      I fished there too. In bristol now and miss the spots in and around Norwich. Try the yare by the start of whitlingham Lane, fished the other bank many years ago, fairly narrow and lovely spot
