    Andy I enjoy the fact that you update on your wet pets as you go. It's much nicer than channels where they do videos showing off their newest fish every week then get rid of others and never mention why or how certain fish perished or whatever. A bit of "waffling on" is no price at all to pay for your *genuine enthusiasm* about the fish-keeping hobby.

    Is there a reason all your tanks have black backgrounds??
    And why not blue??
    I have my smaller version not much smaller mr and mrs wolfie, doing as you suggestion 10 umbee in a tank full of hiding spots but without a background they look somewhat washed out. I want to paint them just deciding what’s best to make the fish color pop.

      Daniel Isles, black background is best with good lighting, makes the colours pop big time, aswell as dark substrate

      Female dovii are pretty peaceful compared to the males. Females have more of a jack demsey level of agro. With the female, there's a pretty good chance things will work out once they have sorted out who's the boss in the tank.

    Another great vid Mr Woods, as I'm new to this I'll say your Texas is gorgeous and the right choice, l love all these fish, and your so lucky to have the space to fit all these tanks in to keep them all, I guess I'm one of those people that you mentioned with my 6 cichlids I told you about, I've had them 3 weeks now and now they are all getting bellies on them and filling out, is it right that if you keep them well fed this brings the aggression down in the tank? I've added more pots and wood yesterday again to try and break the line of vision, I've looked at some big tanks aswell which eventually I'm going to get, in reality Andy I've gotta wait and see how my 6 pan out and then make the choice of who stays and who has to go if and when the dynamics change which they could like you said in your video. I think if push comes to shove it will be the Texas Female, The Male Green Terror and The male Salvini staying losing the JD, The Other Green Terror and the Synspilum as the fish shop said he would take em back if I ran into problems as I don't want to see fish unhappy or hurt by a choice I have made that hasn't worked out.
    Advice always welcome Andy and look forward to your next vid! Russ.

    That was a tough choice I'm partial to Amilophus species but I get why the H. Carpinte was picked . The reasons you stated are things you have to monitor both with fish and reptiles. Some get along while others may not.

    Keep Going on Andy, i like to hear about your opinions and expirience. Your fish are gorgeous. Im from America so i really like to hear your accent too haha. Also, i appreciate the fact that you call it a carpintis and not a texas cichlid. Personally i like the texas more than the carpintis. Do you think i could keep a pair of Gold Saums with a True taxas cichlid? My female saum is about 6-7 inches and the male is about 4 inches. My texas i have is also about 4 inches. Whats your opinion on keeping them together in a 90 gallon? Thanks Andy.

  • @venustus129
    @venustus129 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could always try the carpintis Andy but if it doesn’t work out , Chuck little Morris in and see how that goes. I keep a few different species my self, it’s always a bit of worry if they will get on , I don’t have as many tanks as yourself so I mix a couple of different species to a tank and just hope it works, I have a 13 inch male jag in with an 11 inch festae & they seem to get on , the festae knows that the jag is boss so gives way in the tank. In my other tank I have a pair of green terrors gold saum that have spawned for the first time, I have a male green Texas/carpintis in with them , it’s a more green colour not blue like yours, it does squabble with the male green terror but no major fights have happened so far but I keep an eye on them, I also have a Red Devil in a tank by itself because it won’t tolerate anything in with it lol , but I expected that, not called Red Devil for nothing. Love the videos mate. Happy fish keeping from Durham 👍

    Good choice Andy,two stunning fish you have there Gov. I found with my years of fish keeping and playing musical chairs with my Americans, the dovi's got more aggressive with age and less tolerant of others, the red devil's got less aggressive with age but tolerant of there tank mate's, Red terrors got less aggressive with age but a low tolerance of there own kind and my umbee's where psycho 90% of the time . 👊👍👌🤜🤛😁🇦🇺🇭🇲
