Had the first Q5 for 8 years which was a 2l tdi, loved it. Bought it 2nd hand with 44 000 kms on the clock, had it for 8 years and recently sold it with 205 000kms on the clock. Only major maintenance cost besides the cam belt during that time was to the replace the brake booster. Now ive just bought a 2014 Audi Q5 3l tdi. Its all the same but obviously much quicker with more bells and whistles. Absolutely loving it. Look after these cars, and they will look after you!
Wanting to buy a cheap used 1st generation Audi q5 but considering all the oil consumption issues , possibly high maintenance costs even for a 12 plus year old car , it may not be worth it unless i come across a heavily serviced vehicle
Perfect car, but the 2.0t gasoline engine is cancer! These burn oil like absolute crazy. Issue here and issue there. There's always something wrong with these damn things.
From what I’ve seen, the 2.0tfsi models are VERY reliable and easy to work on. It simply requires you to spend more on standard maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, spark plug replacement, etc.) but just like with any other car, as long as you stay on top of the maintenance and not cheap out, it will run forever. Some people find Audis very thrilling to drive and therefore are willing to keep it for longer and spend more on maintenance rather than A LOT more on a new car. If you don’t like the ride tho, this is kind of a moot point and I just wasted my time typing this out lol😂😂
Totally disagree. Regular maintenance...this SUV is one of the best SUV's available. Unfortunately owners who neglect regular maintenance love to blame the manufacturer rather than themselves!!! Hint???!
Dont give false comments, they ride brilliantly! Sold my 2012 Q5 tdi with 205 000 kms on the clock, only major cost during that time was a new brake booster and cambelt. Best in their class by an absolute mile! Rather not comment please, you have no idea.
@@rich_with_rich congrats bro! Those caught my eye after the fact that I bought a Merc 2014 CLA 250 lol love it though, will def look into the Q5s in the future though as well. Enjoy the new whip 👍

Great to hear
Doesnt look a dated car though , i have the 2016 Q5 and it looks just as good as anything on the road today imo.
I agree 100%, great body style.
Even though the did had this design for a while, with the face lift up in 2012. Im pretty its just because audi looks age pretty well.
But how is the reliability & is the service/maintainance cheap or no?
I still get compliments on my 2013. 3.0T (supercharged) variant in 2024...not bad.
Awesome car - incredible Quattro system. Much superior to the X3 and GLC
You’re right I have one I love it

I thought q5 would be compared to a bmw x5. He never mentioned the v6 for the q5.
He did, in passing. At 4:38.
Would this be better than the XC60 Vovlo?
Never mentioned glc? It’s the direct counterpart of the q5 Quattro, differing only in boot space…
What about the 3.2?

what a suv its class the Q5
So a Q5 is what we are calling a compact SUV now?! - ummm okay then (COUGH Q2 COUGH)
Nice cars but ride awful, totally unreliable
