the structuring of this song is awesome, it doesn't sound like most electronic music but it reminds me exactly of technical death metal. Just the way how it's constantly changing, and sometimes the changes are real abrupt. And just the fast technical drums with the slower lead creating catchy melodies that loop for the smallest bit then shift / form into new melodies.
From 2:30 to 3:50 this tune goes into acid funkadelia...... It's like a seperate little tune stuck in the middle. The Tuss for me is some of RDJ's best work for years and years. And he knows it.
i swear the fucking riff that comes in the second half of the track, jesus christ. chills up my spine. one of the most evil pieces of music ive ever heard.
The Tuss was registered to Richard James, under the BMI Repertoire and indeed it's listed as one of his aliases on Wikipedia. Aside from that, one only has to listen to this to know it's good ol' Dick..
Seriously, if anyone doubts this is Aphex Twin then they're obviously not a fan. There are so many little breaks, samples and techniques from other works such as analord, druqks and other things that it's blatantly obvious even without track names etc..
+Sébastien Bandini I just love that part too xD Extremely dark! The hi percussion that comes in at 2:38 and the crazy break at 2:43 and then the bass :-D
This is one of the best songs ever imo, really. I like it for the pure groove and bass solo in the middle. the prelude to the 2 min groove just kills. And then 2:33. Shake on!! the unmistakeble oddnes at 4:02, and again at 5:14 and the magic between. Its just boring afterwards imho.
Y U NO LISTEN TO FlashbulbSquarepusher/Wisp/Apparat/many more? There are so many good IDM-artists out there! You cant possibly tell me theres noone who reaches up to the indeed high standart of Richards tunes. Just discover dude, thats the best about listening to music.
Original created electronic music has never to do with the kind of equipment but how to be creative with creating and reshaping samples, sounds and noises. So be creative, find your own way, take the time and experiment unless you prefer music in a box, there's a lot on the market.
Dick D. James being as brilliant and forward thinking as ever.
brilliant arpeggiated melody at 4:02 and how it is sequenced with the rhythm
There is no explanation for richard james. His feeling for melodys and harmonys is out of this world.
this isnt richard D james its his evil alter ego James D Richards

this song is pretty badass
what I like about RDJ is how he can make the best use of analog gear and softsynths, each for its strengths
5:13 is always my moment of glory fm synthesis in its best way : pitched and cranked down bassssslinezzz
