Gonna be honest, I got actual chills listening to this. The original already felt incredible, but the way the dialogue and music mixed together, along with the incredible skill you guys demonstrate within the track just elevates it that much more and makes it INCREDIBLE to listen to.
Hearing Meilas voice in the beginning gave me chills. That scene in the game when you free her before the fight with Zed she speaks those words gave me chills this just amplified it we all are fighting to survive in this world just like they are. Never give up face everything with no regrets and keep moving forward people. Don't let the pain hold you down and force you to submit stand up fight back and let out your battle cry.
This is phenomenal. This goes on my "top 50 songs of all time" playlist, out of the thousands of songs I have on Spotify. Also, when that one riff gets hit, it literally brings tears to my eyes. Feels very epic and I'm glad to know that this covers been documented for all of time.

Sup. I converted this track to the format Xenoblade 3 uses and patched it to the NSP (game ISO on the switch). Playing it in 4k on my pc now with this awesome track kicking in when needed!!!
just an FYI: the composer for this track is actually Kenji Hiramatsu, the composer of Engage the Enemy and Counterattack. It was originally listed as Mitsuda because the track uses the “A Life Sent On” motif, which Mitsuda did compose. Japanese crediting is weird like that. On the Album listing for the XC3 OST online, you can see the actual composer is Hiramatsu.

I’ve always thought all 3 games’ equivalent of this track (Engage The Enemy, Counterattack, and this one) had the potential to be be great battle themes, given the right arrangement. This video proves that.

Guys, it's really great. I wish the original was that heavy like Counterattack in XC2. And yes, there are a lot of great tracks for you to cover in XC3 and other JRPGs: there is a large amount of incredible music. Generally, the culmination of Weight of Life takes a serious part from Desolation in XC2.
