- This Seth Thomas 8 day OG clock was made about 1865. This movie shows the recoil escapement before and after the overhaul of the movement. The escape wheel had several non-uniform teeth which I straightened, then slightly topped the wheel to make sure all the teeth were the same length.

Loveeeeee thisss w0rk clock
I don't know if you're still an active TH-cam user, as this was recorded in 2009, but as a beginner clock enthusiast, I'd really love to hear and know how one goes about truing the escapement wheel teeth. It seems like a very delicate job, how does it work?
Hi, Rarezee...
I've got the same issue w/ my S. Thomas 30-hr "Half Column."
That is, adjusting the depth of the pallets "Saddle." (?)
Too shallow, and the gears run wild, too "Deep" and they fetch up.
It's a delicate balance!
Hope you've been able to get yours just right...
Nice job, Bill.
Wishing that you'd share the whole clock with us?
Take care...
