    About Phalar Aluve:
    It's a by now well known bug with it + other damage trigger items.
    Your Callous Glow Ring gets triggered by Phalar Aluve, which gets triggered by the ring again, which in turn triggers the sword in a near endless loop until the game forcefully says "hold up".
    Instead of Fighter Battlemaster you can roll Fighter Eldritch Knight + Warlock Blades + Ring of Arcane Synergy.
    You will be able to shoot a 3 ray eldritch blast first (triggering on-hit effects per ray) followed by a advantage melee attack that then uses your CHA-mod 'twice' for damage, giving you a better action economy as well by not wasting your bonus action near every turn.
    Plus: since CHA is the main-stat and one having up to 5 lvl into Warlock .. you definetly are able to be the perfect party-face for all dialogues

    • @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop
      @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Aestus! You know, I'm embarassed to say it, but I made that joke without having tested Multiattack Defense personally. So I don't have an informed opinion. I do think the other two options are underwhelming for level 7 abilities.
      I think my unthinking instinct was that most of the attacks you receive in an average round are not a subsequent attack from the same creature, so it won't apply to most attacks. But I guess I'm not even sure that is true, particularly by the point of the game that you can get it. And perhaps more importantly, it would only need to apply to 1 in 4 attacks to be equivalent to the defense fighting style, which is at least solid. 2 in 4 would be like getting +2 AC, which would definitely be good.
      Reading it more closely, it also now occurs to me that it probably has some edge value I didn't take into account. It applies until the start of their next turn, so it gives you some free defense if you provoke opportunity attacks on your next turn. I also wonder if it counts as "applying a condition" for the purposes of proc'ing certain items.

    • @Aestus_RPG
      @Aestus_RPG ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop By late game there are a lot of enemies that attack more than once in a turn, and a +4 to AC is a lot. Some can make a TON of attacks, like Orin. But I feel like there is a tactical value to it that is beyond the actual numbers, and that is the "you won't burst me down" effect. With multiattack defense, a single enemy won't likely be able to kill you through attacks in a single turn. That means passive healing a shield effects can't get countered. Full class Hunter Minsc with Sword of Chaos, Periapt of Wound Closure, and Multiattack Defense is very hard to kill.
      The other level 7 Hunter abilities ARE a joke though! 😂

    God, I love this game... :D
    Not sure if it would work on a fighter, but there *is* a piece of armor (well, clothing) to support drunk fighting. "Drunken Cloth", which gives you advantage on CON saving throws and temporary hitpoints based on your CON modifier. It's sold by the bartender at the Thieves-Guild. Its effects would probably not be enough to upset the loss in AC vs some high level heavy armor. Might work on a Berzerker with high DEX who won't be wearing any sort of armor anyway for the +3 boost to AC. I guess if that cloth was available a bit earlier in the game it might be more useful for a wino-build - by Act III there are a ton of better clothing options available.
    I don't know anything about Monks yet, but if I tried this, I would probably go for a "drunken master" unarmed specialist build.

    I remember there also being an armor set that was sold that would buff drunk characters, though I’m unsure where exactly. I think it was some tavern with a bugbear barkeep (elfsong? Or maybe the tavern in moonrise?) not sure what it did exactly but should still fit within the build

  • @moksound19

    I use this on Wyll, as a bound weapon multiclassed in paladin. Lots of smites. But it's still paired with reverberation, and Phalar Aluve, as my character is afflicting everyone as a heavy armor storm sorcerer. It's a horrifyingly effective combo.
    It's just too bad its so hard to freeze anyone, that would send this into orbit.

    So the GWM buff only comes to Heavy weapons that you are proficient with. A Greatclub isn't Heavy just Two Handed.

    • @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop
      @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is how it is supposed to work, yes. But in BG3 you can also use GWM with versatile weapons like longswords, as long as you are wielding them with 2 hands, even though they don't have the Heavy property. It's unknown if that is a bug or just a custom rule change intended by Larian. It's pretty odd though, that you would be able to use it with versatile non-heavy weapons, but not two-handed non-heavy weapons.
