I grew up in Chicago and I've been following Chicago St. since the 80s. When I played H.S. basketball, home fans would chant 'you're the cougars' if the game was a blow out. That said, I've been to a bunch of Chicago St. games and those kids play their arses off, their current stadium is pretty dope and their program survived longer than Northeastern Illinois so I guess that's a few achievements. 🤓
They’ve come a long way since this video. They actually beat Northwestern this year, who is going to be a tournament team. And to answer your question, beating D2s and D3s doesn’t really count. They don’t even make spreads for those games because the gap between divisions is so large. Those games often times end in 40 or 50+ point blowouts. And none of the analytics sites even track non D1s so those wins are essentially irrelevant.
Played them in the 80s at a D3 school in baseball when they were D1. Beat the brakes off of them. Certainly weren't at a D1 level back then. DEI specials. Pretty sure our basketball team beat Northwestern once or twice over the years. Certainly never got blown out to that extent.
I'm not sure why Missouri State is mentioned here for having a long losing streak. In the 1971-72 season, they finished second in their conference while in the 1972-73 season, they won the third place game in the Division II tournament. The team was actually very solid in Division II throughout the first half of the 70's.
División 2 does count tho teams like nova southeastern could compete with any d1 program and overall they’re are kids who are d2 who straight better then most of the players on Chicago state if you put them up against top 10 d2 teams they lose most of those matchups
wouldn't be surprised if Vincennes University or John a Logan college could beat them vincennes is the best njcaa team in the nation and has been for the past 50 some years Juco ball is slept on
@None of your business Don't even have a definition for"woke", Cool Kid. Really hip there (sarcasm). Had to add sarcasm because you in all likelihood believe literally in Black Lives Matter as a statement of entitlement as opposed to irony, Huckleberry Finn. Trumpnecks are hilarious.
Some people do want to know the worst team in basketball 🤷🏻♂️ Because you searched up greatest, I’m not surprised it recommended a somewhat similar video. For the argument on greatest team, well that’s harder to decide. Could be UCLA, UK, DUKE, UNC…you get the point.
Chicago State went undefeated at home in the 2022-2023 season
To be honest in the last couple years I’d say Miss Valley State has been far worse. Literally lost by 80 pts to Arkansas and 92 pts to Utah.
As someone that works in college athletics and has been to Chicago State, that whole department is a joke

Unwarrent dig at my Cyclones... Why you brining up those bad memories 😢😅
haha sorry man!
1:22 Chicago State’s not leaving Division I. They are just switching conferences.
similar thing happened to hartford university but that took place in like 4 years
Looking forward to your follow up video. Under 3rd year coach Gerald Gillion
They lose recruits to NAIA school like St Xavier. The school is in a crappy neighborhood and has financial troubles as well
The 2022-23 California Golden Bears is are on their way to no1. Go Bears!
I used to stay down the street from the college
That’s really insane for a basketball team to lose that many games lol , like I could see in football but damn basketball 😢
North park and east-west are both in Chicago
East -west is in the south loop

Just curious, with them being in the news lately for actually winning do you think ut would be good to do a follow up video
Wouldn't be a bad idea. If people were interested in a follow up I would!

Missouri State was incredible. Southwest Missouri State was not so good haha
Guess I know what team to pick next in dynasty mode on 2K8 lol... that's about the only way they'll win a tournament is me on the sticks
Those 5 teams including Bellarmine and UC San Diego all moved to D1 anyways it wasn’t moving up just because of Covid so they can play.
good video Will!
Thank you 🙏
Lol they’re a shame and laughing stock of the city they do have a nice stadium where they have high school city championships
Well at least it’s useful for something 😂
So this where Anthony Hamilton is going

First you already know 🔥

I'd say the worst program in history is Northwestern honestly.

👍👍
I was searching for greatest. Why would you post the worst? This is amateur basketball. No class.
We found the woke one
