My grandparents took me on a trip to Alaska when I was 10 (20 years ago and they’ve both passed) and I’ve spent hours trying to remember what train in all of Alaska we took. The one specific thing I remembered about it was that a boulder rolled down the cliff onto the workers that was so big they could never recover their bodies and that there was a cross left to memorialize them over 100 years ago. Finally figured out it was this one! Thank you for posting 😊
I have done the White pass, but I can tell you this past May I did the Taku large and five glaciers flying over it through Wings airway and that excursion top of the top. It surpasses the train for me. Personally, you got to fly over five glaciers and I got to meet there and we had an awesome dinner my goodness to walk back to a beautiful waterfall I mean, that had it all, the history of the was just amazing
We did the round-trip version in 2015 on our Princess Alaska trip. It was one of our all-time favorite excursions. It worked well for my husband, who was having trouble with his hip (since replaced) as even in the non-accessible cars there was minimal walking- just a couple of steps up to get in the car and a couple of steps down. It was spooky and foggy at the top of the route- really cool! Thank you for posting this- great to see some of the scenery again. :)
I did it in 2010 with my dad and plan on doing it next year when I return. Can't wait to share it with my son who wasn't even born when I was there last time.
Oh wow, they still let you hang outside? That is so cool. We used to go on the train as kids growing up in Juneau via the school district. SE Alaska has a phenomenal school system.
@@thatcreepyxmastreeinyourat8950 yes indeed. I was taking photos and video the whole time. I wasn’t hogging it either , no one else came out which was perfect 👍🏼
We took this trip last week. We boarded near our cruise ship (Ovation of the Seas) and went round trip. The train does cross the Canadian border and goes round trip without stopping. No need to change seats since your view changes on the return.
I did it in 2022 July but there was no stop in between to step out and it was very scary when the train was running on the edge of the mountains. It was beautiful and scary to me
At the beginning of the video you mention the different train ride options: round trip, one that goes into Canada, and one with a bus. You say you'll talk about those later but then don't. I was looking for a comparison.
We are traveling in May 2023 I can't get an answer oh how to book this My ship carnival spirit has 1 trip and it's a bike ride down I can't do that I've seen prices of 130 for a train trip to 215 to train up bike down
@@HarrTravel You may be right when it comes to me being a tourist. I'm not going to check and see the date of that posting but I think that calling it a federal mandate may be poetic freedom not necessarily true.
@@sarahpage6225 If your cruise is limiting your options, then I would get with your agent and find out if there will be a discounted fee or if they could find you a better cruise.
I booked this trip for May however I realised that there are other trips to Yukon which would allow me to drop for photos whereas this trip is fully on the train without disembarkation. Can anyone advise if I should do the Yukon bus trip instead of this?

Just came back from Alaska. This train ride to White Pass is incredible.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is definitely one of our favorite AK adventures!

Ill be on this excursion next Tuesday...so excited!!

Wow! Brings back great memories. Did this about 10 years ago with RCI. Loved Skagway. Had a great quilt shop lol
Absolutely BRILLIANT! Thanks for the video...very helpful for us planning our trip:)
Thank you so much very informative have just booked this excursion for our Sept 2024 cruise
Are you booking in your own or thru the cruise company. I’m thinking if booking in my own and it seems so much cheaper.
This is beautiful!!! I love trains 🚂 and this looks like it doesn’t disappoint! Thanks for sharing!!
This was our favorite experience! So much history and the view was amazing.
i went on the longer tour up to Carcross Yukon in Sept 2019..It is the best excursion I've ever been on
Hey Danny. Looks amazing. Thanks much.
I was on the fence about adding this to our stop in Skagway, but this video made me change my mind. Thank you so much!
How was it? Was it worth it?
I been on the White Pass, and Yukon Route train ride 8 times it is a great excursion.....
I did that train ride in 2019 and loved every minute of it.
It is a wonderful excursion!!
Loved this train about a month before becoming paralyzed
Thanks Danny, you do such great videos.
Absolutely beautiful
Such an awesome ride.
Spent most of it between the cars outside
Same, I was hanging outside, trying to see everything

Thank you for another great video on an Alaskan excursion.
❤Very nice Welcome to my beautiful country
Great videos and tips, thank you.
I was there in August took some pictures of those trains in the beginning of the video too.
Very nice video!
I would like to know in which month was this video taken
Thank you
Went on this excursion in September of 2021 and there was a bridge out so we only got to go around 14 miles up mountain.
Great video, thank you! If you have an excursion where the train picks you up at the dock, does it also drop you back off at the dock afterwards?
Nice tour. Do you think it is ok to do it with a 1 year old baby?
What are your thoughts on people with severe phobia of heights? Is this train more elevated or on the lower ground?

When was this trip filmed,?
Cool and charismatic host
In which month was this video taken? do the waterfalls have plenty of water in early August?
Anyone know if you can do this with a 1 yr old without the carseat or if a carseat is required?
What happened to the Holland America ship tours?
They will be returning to the channel soon.
You should have a route map in this

How was it
Can you smoke on outside part of train?
The train experience is smoke free.
@@HarrTravel then that’s a bad experience
Is there more to see that was not shown on the video?
Can I bring a camera on this excursion?
Do you recommend the longer tour that enters canada or just the 3 hour shorter one?
I like the longer tour. You will need your passport if heading into Canada on this route.
Skagway or White Pass train for you to rejuvenate past memory
Good to find out about the mask all the time on the rail excursion. It helped me make up my mind about not taking it.
Won't be that way forever, but always check protocols before you book if that is a sticking point for you.

Hi, My cruise just told me that we can not cross the border now so can only do return to the border. Is this still worth it?

I booked the Yukon Adventure and RR. It's now been cancelled for 2022. Only the train available round trip, stops before Canada.
