I booked all our dinners as soon as they opened on the app, which I had previously downloaded. They do fill up fast. Once we boarded, I booked our entertainment then spa. They already had my dinner reservations which made sure things didn't overlap. I also booked our excursions prior to boarding. People really need to use their app BEFORE the cruise.

Absolutely love your videos. Your honesty is truly appreciated. We did our first VV sailing back in September with my husband, and am going on another with my friend in 35 days!! My husband and I made some of the same mistakes, but we had such a great time, we simply couldn’t do everything we wanted. This go around I plan on exploring and enjoying more of the ship, foods that I didn’t have last time (pizza, sushi, etc) and different shows. BTW, this will be my 2nd cruise ever! I’m so hooked. 😁❤️

it depends on how close you stand to the ship. lol. i was able to! it’s about getting on the virgin voyages WIFI to be able to do it. so no matter where you are- as long as you’re connected to it you can!

Love your videos, and appreciate all the great information you give as Ill be on my 1st cruise ever (with VV obviously) in just 67 days!! I know you said the ships are basically the same, as you said you sailed mostly on the Scarlet Lady, and just recently on Valiant. Ill be on Valiant myself, do they have the glam stations and all for scarlet night. I am not the worlds best girlie girl, but I love getting dolled up in a salon and make-up stations. SO curious to know if you saw those Glam stations on the Valiant Lady as well!!

YES of course they do! and its not your only the option.i'm setting sail on scarlet again next week and will be doing a 'scarlet night blow out' for hair... valiant will have other things available beyond the glam station (whether makeup application on high street or something like this in the hair place). just keep an eye out! or does someone else have a suggestion?

Leaving 1/20/23 on Valiant Lady out of San Juan. I kind of wish I would have scheduled via a Pro but I needed a distraction at the time. Likely I would have been warned that embarkation day for that sailing was Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian which is why the hotels are at high season pricing and there will be "high traffic and road closures in Old San Juan". lol Life is an adventure when it is sort of unplanned. I did get a $600 bar tab bonus and the Splash of Romance which is stellar except that we are not big drinkers. You win some, you lose some. :P Biggest mistake was that I ended up directly behind the aft starboard lifeboats (8038A), unless A is port side, still don't got that clear. Any idea who to contact to get a small birthday cake in cabin? Husband turns 50 on the 19th. Tried VV's onshore Sailor Services but they said I would have to talk to onboard Sailor Services. VV has a few process kinks to work through but they are the first company to tempt me into trying sailing.
ohhhh yah. i'm reading this and trying not to not close my eyes because it kinda hurts my eyeballs. but dont we ALL have to learn somehow? i just landed in salt lake city today and went straight to a pickleball lesson in which i had to close my eyes a few times because what i was seeing other people do hurt too much to look. LOL. ok not really. ok maybe. the bar tab bonus is cool.. but its all about sailor loot. especially as a non drinker. when i set sail next week, i have $1100 in sailor loot and yes i will use that to do the shake for champagne and dom perignon and blah blah blah.. but more importantly: to buy some fun swag for friends. to upgrade to a tomahawk at The Wake (i feel like i should do a bet with my audience to see how much they think i can eat vs how many oz i can actually eat)... massages, excursions, shopping, and.. well. everything. you now know for next time. and yes, sailor services re: cake. as long as you don't go within an hour of getting on board, you're fine and the line is generally quick and/or non exitstant. also, directly behind the lifeboats is not good. i was talking with mark (dude that checked me in for my back to back sailing on the "2nd sailing" part of it)... and they dont normally book out those rooms. (*closes eyes again)
I always get the romance package to check in early and then book things when I’m in the lobby checking in. You don’t have to wait to be on the boat, just have to be connected to the WiFi.

We sail in July to Turks and Caicos. What would you all suggest is the best dining time for dinner reservations? This will be our first VV cruise, so I know we will want to see the shows and play the games, too.
We recently took a gratuities included cruise but I felt like there was an expectation for tips. If the person goes above and beyond what normal staff members do, I can see leaving an additional tip, but what about for your cabin steward who is just average?
A good question.. and no, you can't even bring the balloons. Virgin Voyages has a strict policy against single use plastics (no plastic water bottles) and no balloons.

i’m currently on resilient right now on my 14th sailing with virgin voyages and i’ve never experienced that. on TOTALLY different travels i’ve done… i’ve experienced it A LOT.
there are 50 videos in the playlist - one of them being "what IS and IS NOT included on virgin voyages". that one might help! bingo show is free. bingo cards (that win you money.. rightfully, aren't free) regular coffee is free premium coffee (flat white, espresso, etc) are not free.
VV was my first cruise. We booked a rockstar suite. The booking of everything was stressfull. It is like going to Disney. Everything is so specialized I'd bet once you've done it once it will be extremely similar. As a picky eater this was kind of a nightmare. I just wanted some regular food. There is a very small menu in each restaurant. I was hungry and disappointed so much of the time. I wish they'd either embrace the "adult" thing and ditch all the innuendos or just drop it. It feels like middle or high school with all the hinting and jokes.

every sailing i've been on (and i've been on over a dozen) feels different and has a different crowd. it also depends on how YOU feel about your age. does someone else have an opinion on this? i never feel too young, i also never feel too old ANYWHERE i'm at.
honestly, I found the offerings of the restaurant VERY LIMITING. What I had was good but I feel like they could maybe 1-2 more items esp entrees in each of the restaurants. Also, they can have TEST KITCHEN....just...yuck. Out of 6 items, I only really enjoyed 2 of them. The Galley is great for walk-up options but overall, what they offer is also very limited. Out of 7 cruises, I ate the least on THIS VV cruise. I'm not a buffet lover so i didn't miss that part, I just was very underwhelmed at what they offer to dine on

Love your videos, and appreciate all the great information you give as Ill be on my 1st cruise ever (with VV obviously) in just 67 days!! I know you said the ships are basically the same, as you said you sailed mostly on the Scarlet Lady, and just recently on Valiant. Ill be on Valiant myself, do they have the glam stations and all for scarlet night. I am not the worlds best girlie girl, but I love getting dolled up in a salon and make-up stations. SO curious to know if you saw those Glam stations on the Valiant Lady as well!!
i LOOOVE to hear this! YES of course they do! and its not your only the option.i'm setting sail on scarlet again next week and will be doing a 'scarlet night blow out' for hair... valiant will have other things available beyond the glam station (whether makeup application on high street or something like this in the hair place). just keep an eye out! or does someone else have a suggestion?

Leaving 1/20/23 on Valiant Lady out of San Juan. I kind of wish I would have scheduled via a Pro but I needed a distraction at the time. Likely I would have been warned that embarkation day for that sailing was Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian which is why the hotels are at high season pricing and there will be "high traffic and road closures in Old San Juan". lol Life is an adventure when it is sort of unplanned.
I did get a $600 bar tab bonus and the Splash of Romance which is stellar except that we are not big drinkers. You win some, you lose some. :P Biggest mistake was that I ended up directly behind the aft starboard lifeboats (8038A), unless A is port side, still don't got that clear.
Any idea who to contact to get a small birthday cake in cabin? Husband turns 50 on the 19th. Tried VV's onshore Sailor Services but they said I would have to talk to onboard Sailor Services. VV has a few process kinks to work through but they are the first company to tempt me into trying sailing.
ohhhh yah. i'm reading this and trying not to not close my eyes because it kinda hurts my eyeballs. but dont we ALL have to learn somehow? i just landed in salt lake city today and went straight to a pickleball lesson in which i had to close my eyes a few times because what i was seeing other people do hurt too much to look. LOL. ok not really. ok maybe.
the bar tab bonus is cool.. but its all about sailor loot. especially as a non drinker. when i set sail next week, i have $1100 in sailor loot and yes i will use that to do the shake for champagne and dom perignon and blah blah blah.. but more importantly: to buy some fun swag for friends. to upgrade to a tomahawk at The Wake (i feel like i should do a bet with my audience to see how much they think i can eat vs how many oz i can actually eat)... massages, excursions, shopping, and.. well. everything.
you now know for next time. and yes, sailor services re: cake. as long as you don't go within an hour of getting on board, you're fine and the line is generally quick and/or non exitstant.
also, directly behind the lifeboats is not good. i was talking with mark (dude that checked me in for my back to back sailing on the "2nd sailing" part of it)... and they dont normally book out those rooms. (*closes eyes again)

I always get the romance package to check in early and then book things when I’m in the lobby checking in. You don’t have to wait to be on the boat, just have to be connected to the WiFi.

We recently took a gratuities included cruise but I felt like there was an expectation for tips. If the person goes above and beyond what normal staff members do, I can see leaving an additional tip, but what about for your cabin steward who is just average?

A good question.. and no, you can't even bring the balloons. Virgin Voyages has a strict policy against single use plastics (no plastic water bottles) and no balloons.
Do they allow you to bring a drone on the ship?

on TOTALLY different travels i’ve done… i’ve experienced it A LOT.

bingo show is free. bingo cards (that win you money.. rightfully, aren't free)
regular coffee is free
premium coffee (flat white, espresso, etc) are not free.
VV was my first cruise. We booked a rockstar suite. The booking of everything was stressfull. It is like going to Disney. Everything is so specialized I'd bet once you've done it once it will be extremely similar. As a picky eater this was kind of a nightmare. I just wanted some regular food. There is a very small menu in each restaurant. I was hungry and disappointed so much of the time.
I wish they'd either embrace the "adult" thing and ditch all the innuendos or just drop it. It feels like middle or high school with all the hinting and jokes.

every sailing i've been on (and i've been on over a dozen) feels different and has a different crowd. it also depends on how YOU feel about your age. does someone else have an opinion on this? i never feel too young, i also never feel too old ANYWHERE i'm at.
honestly, I found the offerings of the restaurant VERY LIMITING. What I had was good but I feel like they could maybe 1-2 more items esp entrees in each of the restaurants. Also, they can have TEST KITCHEN....just...yuck. Out of 6 items, I only really enjoyed 2 of them. The Galley is great for walk-up options but overall, what they offer is also very limited. Out of 7 cruises, I ate the least on THIS VV cruise. I'm not a buffet lover so i didn't miss that part, I just was very underwhelmed at what they offer to dine on
