Wow, the girl that graduated from Boston University couldn't solve the problem with positive and negative powers despite having a pen and paper. And here I, an average student from India, solved it correctly in my head in all of two seconds. The education system rather than her is to blame.
@@summervv2776fortunately or unfortunately there are more examples of Americans online that display a lack of knowledge of school level mathematics, geography and other subjects. American education is getting judged on the quality of its output.
That 8th grade indian question is a 1 mark question in our 50 marks exam paper. Come on it was so easy, you don't even need a pen and paper for that. I got the answer in 30 sec.
Well, that indian 8th grade question is pretty simple because they already gave those 2 numbers in the ratio. So you can solve it by using a ratio and proportion method as follows 9y - 5y = 196 ; 4y = 196 ; y = 49 So, 9y = 9x49 = 441 and 5y = 5x49 = 245 Note:- Before solving this question in the above method, you should learn about the ratio and proportion concept.
Not a single question needed pen and paper... And these people were asking for calculator... You can literally solve these questions in your mind very easily...
0:43 those universities claiming number 1 university whole world after excluding indian universities not giving a single student to solve indian 2nd grade questions...shame or propagandist western people.
In India there is no multiple choice of questions for 8th grade....if you guess the answer 0 or 1 you will get half mark out of 5 because our teachers mostly look into the steps...each step have 1 mark....if you don't solve in correct way of steps and your answer is correct you will get less mark.... that's how it's work in india...steps are more important than answers 😅and also these questions are easy level one but you need time to solve it....I every time lost my time for solving these 1 mark questions rather than 5 mark...
for the 3rd question theres a trick and it usually takes just a glance to solve it when the exponents have the same base and they are multiplied, you need to add the power and the final result will be the power to the base in this case the powers added up to give zero so 5 to the power 0 is 1
I'm 43 years old Indian, still I can solve these questions. Solved these questions in mind.( these are very easy questions, no great achievement if I can solve these ). In fact, my niece who is in 5th. Standard can also solve these questions.( no pen, no paper, only brain )
Wow, all the Indians are like ," i got it in Seconds" Meanwhile i am indian i couldn't solve any one of them in my mind I used to solve it in school time though 😊
Oh for the last question there was a trick that I used back as a kid. Since it is 9:5 and difference is 196. You do, (9-5)/(9+5)*x = 196 which gives 4x/14 = 196 or x/14 = 49. So the other two numbers are 5*(x/14) and 9*(x/14) which is 5*49 and 9*49! 245 and 441 respectively!
I think the point to enjoy it is the process than the result. I do major in math and trust even we domt do such problems. What matters is understanding thw question and the logic behind it.
I am a Sri Lankan and our education system is also like Indian education system. Math is just a game and I think if they have done it with some confidence they would have solved all the problems
Allowing the use of calculators in Western schools has killed the development of intuitive calculations & visualization in the mind. You don't require pen & paper to solve any of these problems. The main reason why we Indians are so quick with mental calculations which becomes really handy throughout our lives. For example, about 3 decades back my British boss in Dubai stopped using calculators for simple calculations whenever I was in the same room with him.
I got everything correct, but for a while, all of them made me consider if 1 is the right answer for the powers question, but then after I took a closer look at the question, I was sure they got it wrong, not me. Goes to show how even fools can make you think twice about your decisions.
3:03 I just solved it in 2-3 seconds by the way😂😂 and they need pen and paper sorry but I think their education system is like that that's why😅😅 otherwise in my country 🇮🇳of I'm not able to solve it my father would scold me like how can I not able to solve it in 2 or 3 sec😂😂😂
Basic maths requires no calculators/pen or paper. Only applying some simple techniques n anyone can solve problems with in a sec. In India our time 2005 12 std calculators were not allowed in examination hall. This method was applicable for both science and commerce students. At present 10th std a student in India must solve their question only using pen n papers in examination hall dat means no calculators allowed here.

Me too .... I'm doing it in my brain 😂 hum aise hi karte hai😂
I don’t know why people say the American education system is bad because we learned all of what he’s shown, so I don’t know how she didn’t get it.

Hii im from india , im a neet ug student i can proudly say that i did all question in 55second .
Thats too much of time.
@divyamrathi299 seriously 😳?
Bro are you really from India 😂. I could do it all under 20 secs
55 sec bro u need to step up ur preparation.
Why are you insulting indians?
Bro in india we calculate these problems in our mind😂....we follow a simple rule "think without ink"🔥 I'm shocked to see them suffering 😂😂
I am from India and that one was the easiest question from a 8th grade. Cause my 8th grade book was hell.
I was thinking the same!!!
Fr
Indeed, this was like 8th grade mental math may be. Simple. Divide 196 with 4 (9-5) and multiply 49 (196/4) with 9 and 5 respectively.

I am Indian, I qualified JEE and I did
1st question in 8 sec
2nd in 5 sec
3rd in 2 sec
4th in 8 sec.
Here me who have cracked both jee and neet😂 but currently doing mbbs
So wat?
U will learn later that life does not lie in these qualifications😅😅

Yeah 😂😂
Bro If any Indian teacher see this he will think that 'these question are like Very Short Anwer of( 1 or 0.5 )marks 😂😂
I'm Indian and I'm bad at math's but I solved all that problems in just 25-30 seconds without any pen paper. It's very simple questions in India.
Yeah

Indians laughing at the corner, no offence but it’s true 👀
For 5th one, a power m multiply a power n is equal to a power m plus n. So the answer is a power 2+4-4-2 = a power 0 which is equal to 1.
If a Indian girl was there she would have solved within seconds

Broo the 8th grade math question brought back the hours of torture that I used to spend trying to solve 15 of those damn questions!!💀💀 💀
6:58 everyone's so happy and confident, they be like "yeyyy 0 is there in the option so 0!" so confident being wrong, i like it 😂

Korean and Indian may not have the best system but they have fierce competition
i love simultaneous linear equations (only cuz im good at them)
Emma is really good with Maths, her dedication to solve them was amazing 😮👏
She was amazing!!!
Not good but at least willing to try

Divide 196 by 4 and multiply by 5 to get first answer & by 9 to get the other answer
5.3 = 53/10, 0.17 = 17/100; 53*17 = (53*(10+7)) = (530(530*10)+371(53*7)) = 901/10*100 = .901
There is an easier process to the last sum.
If we consider they both are multiple of x.
Literally 4 lines are enough
9x-5x =196
X= 49
9x= 441
5x = 245
So this channel is growing
the mathematics and the physicist that made ever technology like ever... dude come on i mean like... u too

As an Indian we do this in sec in mind without pen and paper and this all we solve in 4 th grade
8th grade question from India can be solved in an easier way it takes just 1 min to solve it just do 9x-5x=196

Narural numbers questions was very easy. It should be solved by any graduate students.
They will be ones who only laugh but don't know answer
Because we Indians do not have money for the calculator, and we don't want to waste paper we do all calculations in our mind
