OMG...I was a busboy, 15 yo, when I heard this song the first time. It was on an eight-track; played endlessly. I got sick of it. Hearing it again, after all these decades, touched my feelers real nice.

Just found out that he passed today (5/29/2021) of cancer. Such a horrible disease! I grew up with songs like this! My condolences and prayers go out to his loved ones! I know after a struggle with drug addiction, he became a man of faith in his later years. The most important thing while living on this side of heaven is to surrender to and serve the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He only can bring forgiveness of past sins and eternal hope after we leave this earth!

for past months i have lost my reasons i'm depressed! somewhere in my brain something tells me these artists should not even grow old ,they make people feel better by their voice , yet every day we hear some singer or actor passes away ,the part for me that makes me more sad is that these people for last 2 years were forced to stay in a lockdown situation without contacting people and fans like they used to and it's just depressing!
