Thanks everyone for watching this week's video! There are so many opportunities for fun day trips from Halifax, and Lunenburg is definitely at the top. We will be exploring a few other destinations next time, so stay tuned! 😀 - Brandon & Anja
That brisket brings me back! It’s been so long since I had good BBQ and cornbread. Great vlog as always guys! Love the music choices. Fits the scene perfectly. We def need to get to the east coast of Canada.
I'm bet most of the BBQ you'd find in America would be better, but it was still a welcome change from all the seafood we had been eating. 🦞 Mike is from North Carolina, right?! I'm sure seeing that chewy brisket hurt his soul a bit. 😂
That is a cute little town. Maple walnut ice cream for the win! Brisket should melt in your mouth. Takes about 18-20 hours to do right. Texas is beef/brisket land, no sauce. Kansas is pork ribs, thick sweet sauce. They do brisket too. Tennesse has good BBQ. N. Carolina is pulled pork, in a sandwich with a slightly spicy vinegar sauce. You had BBQ about as far away from these states as possible. LOL.
It's a super cute town! This brisket most definitely DID NOT melt in our mouths. Hahaha. Serves us right for not going somewhere for local seafood, like we had originally planned. 😂 We'd love to travel the southern states at some point and hit up all the best BBQ joints. It's actually our #1 bucket list time for American travel! Neither of us have had proper American BBQ in the US - but it looks 10x better than what we had. Haha.
They haven't done it in a few years, but in the fall they used to host a spirits festival called Spirited Away. They would bring in mixologists and reps from distilleries from across Nova Scotia for a weekend in which workshops would be held. My (and wife's) favorite was a rum history lesson done right on one of the old rum running schooners during the prohibition days.
Long time no see! Thanks for watching, guys! You guys would definitely love it. A super chill, quaint little place. I know you guys love fresh seafood (especially Vicky), so maybe stick to that if you ever visit! It's much, much better than the BBQ! 😂
Hahaha. Yeeeeah, the East Coast of Canada isn't exactly known for their BBQ. 😆 We featured seafood in the two previous videos, so we wanted to show something different. It definitely wasn't bad, but with taxes and tip the meal was almost $90CAD. For that pricetag, we were expecting the meat quality to be a bit better. Can't win em' all! 🍖
@@wherearewe-yt Ah okay. I'm glad you had a decent day weather-wise to shoot this. I'm in Bedford, and as you know, our weather last summer wasn't the greatest. Cheers!
We were SUPER lucky. This WAS last summer, and the weather was all over the place when we visited. Haha. We had to make sure to film this, and the Halifax video in just a few hours, to avoid bad weather.

That sounds awesome! We'd love something like that.

Great video guys! Totally been there, craving a different food than everything that's around and then being disappointed with the results 😅

Love your videos guys shout out to you from Toronto ✌🏼
Thanks so much for watching! We used to live in Toronto for years. We miss it.
I thought this was a video about Lüneburg, Niedersachsen 😅🤣
I think that's probably where they stole the name from, haha 😂
@@wherearewe-yt I guess so, that or Lauenburg in Holstein nearby, literacy was not high among the colonists back in the day.
Great video. Where are you from?
Thanks! I'm from Halifax, and Anja is from Germany.
