Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard, if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Willard.
I passed all 4 parts in a year after being out of college for 26 years . I wasn’t working on accounting and hadn’t looked at the material since college . I got Roger, watched the videos (he makes it funny ), and hammered questions every free minute I had during the day . I only read the books if I really needed to . I guess everybody learns differently.
While I had a great CPA exam instructor, the bulk of my study was practicing the sample questions. My goal was to be able to answer and recite the explanation to any multiple choice question within 15-20 seconds, which helped me memorize the terminology. For more complex problems, I set my practice time to half of the time that I had allotted for myself on that part of the exam. Since I expected the exam to throw a curve-ball with respect to the essays, I would write articulated arguments on anything and everything, so that I get comfortable with writing a persuasive argument quickly and free of grammatical errors.
Thank you for the insight! I left my job, so I can study full time. And I am still overwhelmed. I use Becker. My first exam is this month on Audit (my weakest part) any other tips? Thanks again
Thanks for the tips! I too have no real desire to watch lectures and quite frankly read the books. I'd rather skim through the books and jump into MCQs and Simulations as quick as I can. If I truly do not understand a topic then I'll read the chapter on it and watch the lectures. Wish I could afford Becker but I'm poor haha. Thanks again!
@@Ryan-ic1wj I just like science & tech better. I have not been in accounting or auditing for a long time. But I still maintain my license & knowledge to work as a BSA working between developers and Accounting, Finance & tax folks.
Thanks for this. How long did you study for each section before you felt comfortable enough to take them? I've heard of people who took 3 years to get through the whole thing.
My dads accounting professor accidentally gave him the CPA exam as instead of his makeup exam. He was going to Harvard business school at the time so it could have been easy for him, but he passed it.
I studied accounting as major with one year experience in AR and auditing, and i switched to banking (private equity) which I lovvvvve. However, I wanna take the CPA since I graduated October 2022 and I think it will be easier, but everyone around me says take something related to private equity but I want it since I want to open an office for the long run. Do you think that studying CPA will be harder if I waited long period after graduation since I don’t practice it I am worried that I might forget everything??
Roger's CPA is far better. It's not slow, he is fast and covered the areas that you will be questioned. I felt very confident when I was taking the exam and questions I saw. Highly recommend Roger's CPA live or on USB drive. Drive is better.
Heyy.. i am in the Bay area too and want to apply for jobs at Big 4 and i am pursuing CPA.. my question is - do the Big 4 take people who are pursuing CPA and have not completed it yet but intend to? And how are the work hours at the Big 4 and how difficult is it to get in?
They do! I did not take the CPA yet when I started. The work hours vary by your team and the time period you're in ~ It is not very difficult to get in (in my opinion)
they do! a specific yellow company even gives a bonus if you complete your cpa within your first year of working at the company (they give you one whenever you complete it but the amount is not as big as the one you get when you complete it within the first year), they’ll also comp the cost of studying for your cpa (so like study books, courses, etc.) (i’m not sure if the second part is specific to people who have done an internship)
@@MochaRose990 I said she expects us to watch 12 minutes of her content, not that she is forcing us to do so lol. Which she does expect since I’m guessing she gets more revenue if we stick until the end. IMO, it’s a double standard to say you can’t get through 10 seconds of a lecture without being bored, yet you make a 12-minute video in which the first 3 minutes and 38 seconds are mostly nonsense (stopped watching after this lol).
@@realmadridworld1688 its not really nonsense, it's not meant to be disrespectful your just thinking like a snowflake. If you recall back to kindergarten and later elementary school we learned that people learn to retain information in different ways. some are auditory retainers so they learn better when lectured by someone and never like to read anything, Some are visual learners and learn better when left alone to read from books. some kids are hands-on and need to interact with something to retain info those are the people who write everything down, etc. She obviously is saying that she's a visual/hands-on learner who doesn't like lectures its common sense.
