I love my mini mark orchid & great fragrance ~ it’s beautiful
Oof! Now that I know that it can be fragrant, that hikes it up higher on my wanted list!
But the hit or miss nature of fragrance between individual plants reminds me of my issue with my Den. unicum! Many accounts indicate the same issue and I think I drew the short end with my own!
Fragrance is so very important for me!

Thank you for taking the time to watch it! Yeah I haven't been able to pin down what causes the fragrance, so it might literally be the genetics lottery. I noticed that the fragrance on mine gets like 3x stronger when it's starting to drop a flower, which is really interesting.
If you get the chance to buy the mini mark, and you have the space and funds for it, you could try buying multiple plants to increase the chance of having a fragrant one. I guarantee that you'll be able to swap/sell the others without much of an issue, seeing how popular this little orchid is.
Mini Mark is a lovely plant. The one in my care is currently blooming on 5 spikes.

Mine flowered earlier in the year but the flowers lasted very little time for a Phal. I thought it might have bad roots so repotted it but found the roots were actually very good. Much to my surprise it’s thrown a new flower spike so it will be interesting to see how long these blooms last. Mine’s not a fragrant one, which is disappointing.
The flowers on mine also aren't lasting all that long. The first ones are now beginning the wither after 1.5 months. But this is it's very first flowering ever, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. I hope that your second flower spike lasts longer 🤞
Six weeks is no time at all for most Phalaenopsis orchids, is it? By contrast, I bought a purple no ID Phal from a supermarket in flower last November. It lost the last bloom just over a week ago!
@@Rockdoc2174 a phal usually flowers for about 3 months or so, sometimes much longer even if it's well grown. But then, some hybrids are also just more vigorous and strong then others. When it flowers again next year, I'll make a video about the blooming time and care.

I hope that you find it! It seems to be relatively difficult to get outside of Europe.
Whith my hybrid phals I have encountered that their fragrance depends on brightness of light and even on timing of light. I have one which becomes fragrant when it is sunny in the morning and one which suddenly becomes very fragrant during and right after watering.
My liodora is very fragrant when it is sunny and until I put it on south facing windowsill I thought I was unlucky to get a non fragrant liodora. 🤷🏼♀️

Really? They have a reputation for being the easiest orchids to grow :p What goes wrong in your environment? Too cold?
@@OrchidNerd I have no idea, caring doesn't work, neglecting doesn't work, shaded or bright, mounted or pot. I guess I'm just not good with Phals. The rest is growing like weeds so it's not me that's difficult 🤣
