As others wrote down, going through the Lara's home tutorial really helps and spares you the frustration of figuring out tricky jumps in the actual levels of the game. The thing is, at the time games always came with a paper manual which would explain the gameplay, so the game expected the played to know the basics before starting, which is not the same today where the same information is provided in-game.
I'm two years older than you, and I grew up with TR2 and TR4 (Last Revelation) these games are so amazing! They're hard but so rewarding! Pro tip: If you have trouble with the og controls (tank controls) in the options menu you can change over to modern controls, Lara moves much more fluidly but she doesn't do her useful cool flips unless she's shooting so something to think about
Play Lara's Home first. It's a tutorial that will help you learn how to control Lara properly. Also, curious as to why you chose to play with the original graphics when the primary point of the remaster was to make the game look much nicer.
I'll definitely be checking out the tutorial next episode. And I like the original graphics because they're kinda silly! I'm trying to remember to switch graphics every time Lara dies lol
You should have done the tutorial first to get familiar with the controls. You can access the tutorial at any time from the main menu, the polaroid that says "Lara's Home." Additionally, you can change the controls to a modern version in the settings menu, which may be easier for newer players. Nice run anyway. 😊
1st tip never change to modern controls you can’t really do her jump moves the game was based on tank controls and d pad play like most ps1 games including tomb raider until the legend series
❤

True, I can't even remember the last time I bought a physical game! And don't worry, I check out Lara's home in the next episode :)

Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind once things get really hard
