Yay new ARD video. Since you last one came out I ended up binging all of your videos and was convinced by them to playthrough and 100 percent Crash 1-4 despite having never played Crash before that. Still need to get around to the other games that came out between 3 and 4 though. Keep up the great work!
The fact that it can pop you out of crash 3 when you've been playing crash 1 makes me think a crash level randomizer might be very interesting to make, wish i was a lot more tech savvy.
Awesome mod man! I always wanted to play Crash 2 with the super powers for shits and giggles. I assume one of the weird quirks is boss fights? I went to fight Ripper Roo and when I beat him crash was soft locked and all I could do was leave the level. Of course, deleting the update.pak file and starting the game back fixed it but wasn't sure if there was a work around.
hey, time trialer here! first off thanks for your constant back and forth work to make this happen. love learning about your endless game knowledge. crash 2 (and prior to n tropy in c3) has speed tech only able to be done without the death tornado and with death tornado has its own movement tech we call mach tornado. is there any way we can utilize or create saves without the death tornado to maybe try time trials or even full game runs with exclusively hobsliding or exclusively mach tornados? thanks for all that you do 🤍
I think my original comment got deleted by automoderation so im reposting it I'm not that good at explaining things so hopefully this will be helpful but you should be able to do that by opening the alcmod file in alchemist and traveling to the GameVariables.igz file which is in the LooseData folder. Extract the GameVariables file somewhere it doesnt matter where and open a new alchemist window, open the game variables file inside that new window. when you have that window open look for "CGameBoolVariable: Upgrade_DeathTornadoSpin" and click on it, change the int of the byte on the 3rd column and 2nd row from a 1 to a 0. Save the GameVariables file and go back to the alcmod you extracted it from and click on the GameVariables.igz there again, click replace and use the file you just saved, then save the alcmod file and put it in the game (make sure to remove the previous update.pak). I only tested that in the crash 2 tutorial level but it seemed to work there and I assume it would work the same with crash 1 and all the other superpowers (but you never really know with the mess that is nst) I hope this is helpful and good luck.
Is it possible to create a new whole super power in Crash N Sane Trilogy? Like adding sneak shoes, super slide, and rocket jump? or adding back the removed orange colored gem in crash 2 n sane and crash 3 n sane
alright how do it fix it??? i installed the mod before knowing about the side effects lol, i need to finish crash 3 and every time i start it, it takes me to wumpa islands in crash 1, i unistalled the mod as showedin the video but it didnt fix it, i even reinstalled the game and didnt work lmao
@@speedytom7 I figured out how, you go to the game files and there's a folder there with a lot of .pak stuff, you just gotta look for the file named "update" or smth like that and delete it, that fixed it for me, although my crash 1 save was really messed up it was easy to fix
Seeing how you accomplish this, this could also in theory be a way of making a Crash Bandicoot randomiser using every level in the original trilogy. Do you think it could be possible to do such?
Pretty sure you can install the mod to any version of the game, he's shown mods working on PS4 in the past and alchemist has the option to select a switch directory, ofc, in order to play the switch version after modifying it you'd either need a modded switch, or to be emulating.

Ok, so the game runs well only if Crash 1 levels are set to Crash 3 mode to spawn in Crash 2 way...ok, seems ok to me.
This is exclusive to the pc version ain’t it? I was gonna put the powers in the switch version.
