It baffles me how companies can gate off public land especially when a mine has been closed for so long. Lots of roads getting gated here in the West Kootenay too.

Yes there is a gate behind my house that blocks the only access to the back of my property it has been there longer than I have lived here so over 25 years.

That place was pretty awesome! Seems like the path past the gate was well used. I can’t believe they just dropped those core samples and left, seems strange.

Yes that trail is well traveled and the core samples are pretty much the only thing we found left I did make another video of us going in further but still so much up there to explore that place is just huge.

Are the cones supposed to look like that?

I guess they are but totally different from the ones at our cabin which is very close to there but the elevation is a few thousand feet above our cabin. Our cabin is at about 4000 feet that mine is over 6000 feet

So is this a secret place?
The coloration of the cones would most likely be from minerals, just my guess though.

It is quite remote and has been closed for many years, so very few visit it now. I hope to have a better look around this summer, but it is a small window that the snow is not there.

no he was run downby the trolley operator on the mainline just after 1 pm nov 20 1976 while working on the track the trackboss frank sorrentino and his helper were thrown clear John went under the 13th car....The train pulled the cars out to the mill but could not turn around so pushed the cars back in....so the trolley operator was at the rear he had been ordered to stop and wait just inside the portal but he was an asshole and went ahead anyway@@liveworkplaywilderness1877
