Have some EQ and others - unfortunately rates are already down - I picked up some at as high as 5.64 percent awhile back

Agreed, rates have definitely come down recently. I managed to lock in a few GICs over 5% too. With interest rates expected to drop further, it seems likely that GIC rates will continue to follow. Thanks for sharing your experience!
