  • It's back to school time and today I will show you a fast and easy way to make a cool lanyard that your child can use for their student I.D. They definitely will be the envy of all their friends!! You can also make a wristlet using the same method, if lanyards aren't your thing, for your key or key cards! I hope you give this a try and thanks for watching!!
    Lanyard- 1 piece of fabric 2 1/2 inches x 40-42 inches

    Thanks for the tutorial! A strip of reflective material could be added to help see kids better who are walking or at the bus stop in the early morning😊

    Love your videos! Anyway you could do a video in how to make lanyards that are detachable? Looks like it's now becoming more mandatory in working with high risk population here in Canada. Thank you.

    I would be concerned of using this lanyard around the neck of a younger child, as it could get caught and be a choking hazard. In that case, perhaps putting the end together with a little velcro or snap so that it would release when pulled on hard. I love the idea of putting the wristlet on a belt loop or attached to a backpack strap.

      You can purchase the safety release clip from online shops like ebay or Amazon if you'd like to have that peace of mind.

    Would using heat bond work just to help give it strength?

    • @ScrappyPatch
      @ScrappyPatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could, but I think it would make it to thick when you go to sew it together.

    There have been accidents where children have caught the lanyard on an object and have choked. A lot of schools in my province of Alberta Canada have banned lanyards that do have a safety release. This is a playground hazard.

      You could always put velcro on them like one of my subscribers has suggested. Especially for the younger kids! Thanks for watching!
