Don't fall into the guitarist trap of using speed and technique as the ultimate measurement of your value as a musician-it's all about the emotional connection and I think you get that. Another thing you have done really well is playing a second guitar with another voice (okay, your strat), Not that it was needed here, but it might work in another song. Or horns could be cool also.
