      Quick comment as to what Pavel means by a neutron bomb at 27:39. A neutron bomb is a device similar to a normal nuke, but when it detonates it only destroys biological material. In other words, if it went off in Gotham, all the buildings wouldn’t be destroyed but all the people would be dead.

    No one talks about how the movie ends. Blake's middle name being "Robin" is more symbolic. Bruce knew that Blake was his successor. So the last two scenes in the movie are Bruce retiring with Selina, and Blake rising up to become the new Batman.

    • @willdallas53
      @willdallas53 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ending is irrelevant because wb killed the robin character off by the joker in the next movie when affleck took over as Batman.

      Not sure if this is right, I'm not a massive comic book/graphic novel expert (most of what I know comes from Kevin Smith and Walt in Comic Book Men), but doesn't Blake become Batman and get killed pretty quickly, then Scott Greyson takes over and becomes the "real" new Batman, or was it the other way around, and Blake becomes Batman proper?🤔either way, different movies, different universe, I guess 😀

    Christopher Nolan actually considered using a computer generated version of Heath Ledger as the judge in the courtroom scene, but decided against it. He felt it would be disrespectful.

      Not true. December 2008 Nolan said he had an outline for a possible third Batman film, and by that point he made sure to never include the Joker in anyway as it would be disrespectful to Heath Ledger to even going as far as mentioning the character without ever seeing him would be wrong. This sort of stuff has been floating around the internet with no basis in reality as there’s been nothing to actually see Nolan saying anything like this. I’m not saying you’re lying, but this kind of misinformation has been around since 2012.

    The reason it was slow and it felt like stuff was missing was because this film was originally meant to be 1 and a half hours more. Wb made nolan remove almost all of it, as well as the rush near the end too. There was explanation of where joker was and that he escaped. If nolqn has to cut stuff from script or film it usually leads 5o stuff not making as much sense, I can understand the length but its nolan ill watch 5 hours. Wb handcuffs creators to a point they cause films to lose context in most of the films, dceu films especially. I get reasoning but it ends up ruining films overall, I know very long films could ruin it but to me the context matters. Thats another reason time jumped with almost zero visual reference and very little dialogue reference.

    Not only listen to Lorna Shore but had the great fortune to go through the metal vocal course that Will was involved in with Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice and Chris Liepe and even got to talk to Will and get his feedback on my vocals. Pretty cool to have a world class metal vocalist tell you that your vocals sound awesome and to have a hilarious reaction to the fact that I growled for about seventeen seconds without a breath :D Will is also just the loveliest dude with the best energy and no matter what level the people were at in the zoom calls whether just starting out or been doing it for years he was so supportive and informative and so willing to give feedback, often to the chagrin of Elizabeth and Chris because of how long some of his feedback ended up being. Considering how many people were in the zoom calls and he'd just come back from touring, says a lot about his character.

    I liked Bane in this movie - especially during the football scene, when he went 'What a pretty, pretty voice." To me, it just kinda... I dunno. Sure, he was ruthless and planning Gotham's destruction, but he could also appreciate the sound of a citizen's voice. And the fact that he waited until the anthem was almost over... I liked that touch.
    Also, crashing the plane with no survivors at the beginning. That was pretty fun to see unfold.

    people forget that in the comics Bane was one of the smarter villains, smart enough to figure out batmans secret identity, set up a series of other villains to commit crimes on the same night to wear batman out, then invade the batcave to wait for him to return with gave us the scene in the comics whear Bane breaks batmans back, not unlike the scene in the movie. Bane runs his own cartel among other things.

That said I think The Dark Knight is the best "Batman" movie of the 3 films, Batman being Batman and The Joker as the bad guy is classic, but Rises is a better 'film' overall... but is lacking on some "Batman" lol - Still, and the end of the day its a trilogy.. and a incredible one.

    I agree with how the city looks different in the 3 films. Even Wayne Enterprises changes from an iconic Chicago building in the first film to Trump Tower in New York in The Dark Knight. All 3 films use an amalgam of different cities. The 2nd film leans into Chicago, the third into New York, with the stadium being the NFL field in Pittsburgh (Heinz Field at the time).
    On a different note, I wonder how many people miss all of the references in this film to A Tale Of Two Cities.

    I think they set it up to continue with Robin as the new Batman, but unfortunately, they didn't do that. When Bruce and Selina were dancing, Bruce was the only one WITHOUT a mask, since in the first movie, his Bruce face was his real mask. In the final fight with Bane, that's the only time Batman appeared during the day. And in the final scene with Bruce and Selina sitting together in the cafe, Selina was wearing Bruce's mother's pearls.

      LMTF, TPIY, ABR and Parkway Drive are all metalcore bands, probably similar to Unearth (who I haven't listened to before). I know the vocalist of LMTF and he's a lovely guy. Metalcore is my fave metal genre. Jinjer is also considered metalcore, but I wouldn't place them in the same category as those four. Jinjer loves incorporating a few other genres into their songs, and Tatiana sings clean a lot of the time (but we love her screaming too). They're from Ukraine and had to postpone scheduled tours as a result of the conflict with Russia. Lorna Shore is a deathcore band and as a result, Will's vocals are absolutely not everyone's cup of tea, but I love him and he has ridiculous talent. His one-take's here on TH-cam are fantastic to watch and listen to!

    Great film, just not up to the stratospheric standards of the previous two. It did need to take a lot of time to establish the new setting following an 8-year time jump, plus it was trying to combine the Knightfall and No Man's Land arcs from the comics, both of which are enormous stories spanning dozens of issues each.

    it's a bit hard to compare how scary The Joker is in TDK and Bane in this movie. Joker is unpredictable while Bane is a bit predictable but due to his huge size, he's more of a physical force, and considering that he can fight on par with Batman, a guy who's wearing armor that is tough enough to withstand sledgehammers, and is basically a ninja times a thousand, says a lot about the big guy. i swear, Tom hardy killed it, no pun intended, as Bane. i also find it a bit ironic that Tom Hardy has played two monsters, one each from Marvel and DC, who wears black clothing, sorta. :P also, in case you don't know, the plane crashing scene was real, as in, they actually crashed a plane over an empty field. also, the creepy guy who was leering over that woman in the party scene is Thomas Wayne in the Joker movie. :)

    While not my favorite of the Nolan trilogy, it's still a pretty good movie. I feel with this movie and the Dark Knight, the villains are the standout of films and not Batman. Bane was definitely my favorite part of this film even though this was a different take on him without him using Venom. I kind of wish we properly got Robin in this universe rather than the reveal we got at the end since we haven't had a version of him in live action since the Batman & Robin movie. But great reaction though! I hope you'll react to Matt Reeve's The Batman if you haven't yet and also check out some of the other animated Batman movies!

      @@HeroesKey It's debatable as to whether Bane would of had a presence in this movie had Joker in it, I think they'd have left Bane out of it because Joker pretty much would have the spotlight all on him while Bane would look like an extra just thrown into the film for the sake of it. It sure is interesting to imagine would would have become of the movie had it stuck to the original script.

    Oh the career of Michael Caine is worth seeing as a young actor in the 60s and onwards. Zulu, alfie , the ipkress file ( spy movie) and its sequel funeral in Berlin. ( like a realistic James bond or anti James bond) he is amazing in those and Italian job and get Carter. ( all classic movies) ( and thats just the 60s ) he did a wonderful thriller dressed to kill in the 80s , or recently harry brown . ( he played a very old man former soldier who becomes a vigilante) wonderful movie.. oh and old man crying gets to everyone especially women, its the opposite for men we hate seeing the opposite sex cry but i have never seen a lady react to this movie and not be moved by Michael Caine crying. Or not loving the character.

    Bane's words ring truth. See that's the thing about film and art in this - corrupt capitalist consumerism society we live in. Art is supposed to inspire you to work towards making great change, not just of your life but of the lives of those around you, of everyone on earth. But the work that will bring about such great and positive change - will inevitably lead to the end of consumerism and capitalism. So, when you have an all inspiring message of such profound truth - it has to be delivered by an individual whose character has been written to cross that line and cause them to become the the bad guy. Look at the recent Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I don't think what I'm about to say is a huge spoiler if you haven't seen it, but the message of the bad guys in that show is "one world, one people". So, they have to be written to make the choice of crossing that line so that they can be viewed as the bad guy.
    It's all to deter us from change and keep on feeding the system. I'm amazed that there is even such art out there - in the version of film and television of course - that paints a picture of such truths with utter ruthlessness. But then again, it's not surprising that most of those even - have their own agenda and they speak such truths to keep the camera on others rather than themselves. And for that we have to look no further than probably the best streaming show currently running, Amazon's The Boys. A lot, a lot lot lot lot lot, of what it has to say, is about the illusory idea of American Exceptionalism, American foreign policy, and the idealization of celebrities as essentially gods. It's not surprising someone like Amazon, who is certainly engaged in their own shady business practices (like treating their workers like slaves, manipulating search results to put their knock off products at the top over original products, lying about both these things, etc) and is worth so much they have as much power or more, than entire countries in the world - would be putting the US on blast and calling them out in such a way that at least on some level, takes the light off themselves.
    It's unfortunate for the modern day, that art was made and stayed a commodity so long ago. Some philosophers opine that without legitimate art, our last line of defense against the darkness is truly lost. It has felt like this tenseness has been building and building, and with the pandemic that lead to everything streaming, and it's all made to be binged and consumed rather than experienced - it's not surprising that there has been an influx of uncaring, unempathetic, indifferent, and violent behavior. With many saying society is on the verge of collapse on the next 15 years, the unquenchable thirst of greed, the loss of our meaningful art - it's no wonder we are legitmately going mad.

      it would be worth while to read up on the French and Russian revolutions which banes motives are based on and how much of a disaster it really was in real life it was worse than what bane could imagine. Ten and tens of millions of “oppressors” murdered in the streets by mob justice and justifying it by the same cliche platitudes that bane uses of taking down the corrupt rich

    I thought the first 90 minutes was about the path to destruction of the Batman/Bruce Wayne, financially and physically -- it was setting up the eventual Title of the movie in a Double Entendre kinda way, from his beating here and also from where DN ends. Also had to take the time to set up the Selina and Miranda characters. It was well worth it as it had some of the best scenes in it.

    I have trouble with Nolan's movies. The effort to make things emotionally heavy handed is always visible, and the narrative around the attempt to do so doesn't always hold up. Sometimes, it just feels forced and contrived, rather than the story and its momentum having a demanded life of its own.

    • @greggately5782
      @greggately5782 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plot holes are more understandable now with wb forcing Nolan to shorten the film and cut scenes that would tie things better together. I do feel there’s a few cheesy moments as well and not as great as the first two films, but still a great film, imo. And could have potentially been better if the studio let Nolan do completely as he wanted. Length in film never bothers me so I don’t ever get that criticism, but I can understand some people don’t want to sit through such long films. But some of the best films ever made are 3+ hours long.

    Whenever you come back to DC I'd suggest the Zack Snyder trilogy which I absolutely obsess over
    1. Man of Steel
    2. Batman V Superman Ultimate Edition
    3. "Zack Snyders Justice League" on HBO Max... NOT the theatrical version of Justice League
    It is in my top 5 of trilogies of all time
