I bought this fan six years ago and I absolutely love it. I can sleep better without sinus problems due to dust, pollen, and other things in the air.

Why not adding propylène glycol fog to the process taking the incoming air from where it comes after its pushed by the venturi procèss?

I live in Germany where AC is not common. Therefore, my windows are open constantly. How effective would this be then, if at all? Or would it just be running harder longer and require more frequent filter changes?
Hi Travis, it's Jack at Dyson. Although the Dyson Pure Cool™ Link purifier fan will work most quickly and effectively in rooms where doors and windows are kept closed, there's no reason why you can't run the machine with the windows open. The Dyson Link app will allow you to track your air quality so you can see how effectively it's working. It would be hard to determine whether or not this would mean you'd need more frequent filter changes as this would depend on a number of variables, including how long your machine runs for, and the quality of the air both inside and outside your home. However in normal domestic usage, the filter is expected to last a year if the machine is used 12 hours a day, every day.

Do not bother buying their products as their support is absolutely terrible. I am happy to provided detailed information. It is nothing more than a copy and paste call center that hardly knows their products. Despite me providing details and asking for replacements they simply don't understand. I do not suggest buying anything other than a vacuum from them as anything that requires replacement parts is beyond unprofessional and does not match their price tag.
80 freaking dollars for a filter!!!!!! That's half the price of the unit!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY ABSURD

I gotta agree with Matt - we are on summer season now, date June 17th, (for those who read this in future) - it's 29 celsius outside, and thanks for this machine, inside the house is very good, and not feeling of open the window and turn regular fans on near maximum. - I have this Dyson pure cool link, and with large regular fan, both of them working very good together to cool off the heat inside your room.

80 is a lot if its a filter you need to trow away afterwards. Also depends on how long the filter works tho cuz its understandable that they need money aswell besides a 1 time purchase from the machine.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. Some conventional purifiers require you to change, wash, and dry several layers of filter materials. This can be time consuming, but more importantly repeated cleaning of the filter can also damage its efficiency. The material properties of our glass media filter (made from constructed borosilicate microfibers) mean that a greater efficiency is possible than when using washable materials such as PTFE. So for both filtration efficiency and user-convenience, our engineers chose to make our filter replaceable. In normal domestic use, the filter should only need replacing after a year of use, if used for 12 hours a day, every day.
Well that's not too bad I suppose...better than throwing away 10 diapers per day...
Dyson UK . Hi I'm thinking about buying the dyson fan as showed here. I live in a 40m2 single room appartment that is very hot in the summer. This product has not made it to the Danish market yet. I'm curious about the level of the noise that this fan makes? I need to use it mainly when I sleep , so it has to be quite silent. Will the fan run and give enough cooling on the low levels? And What would the dB be at each level?
Another question. There have been some reviews about purifiers that claims that some purifiers make ozon in the air , which is bad for you!
