    The only time I’ve ever hit my knee on the side panel is when I came over a hill into a creek with my xp. Bent the clutch cover right up and cut my knee open.

    I’ve got a 2021 mxz and the coolant jug is now on a rubber grommet instead of being bolted down so it can move a little. Obviously ski doo addressed the issue you were mentioning about it breaking off

    Thanks for the video and heads up. Mine is in at dealer waiting for one more accessory and plan to get it this weekend. The info you shared is helpful.

    +Jeff Eskelson bought 2 geez must be nice to be so Loaded a person can Splurge on two current Gen. Powered Toboogins. Wondered if the dealer cut that purchase Some Slack & made a Bundled price cut ?

    one thing to watch is youre dealer when they lift youre sledd with forktruck what i notice is because of the low drop case on all gen 4 to lower center of gravity there is a lower than usual bump under the jackshaft where the forktruck driver might not be aware of and scrape and crush it in causing future damage i walked away from a very low miles renagade where they were crushed scraped and he had no idea when i pointed it out he was pissed im not shure if he went to his dealer

    Good video, you should check out Bret Rasmussen's video on removing the acoustic covers under the hood.Apparently reduces the temps quite a bit! Nice sled.

      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i want to do that before my next trip and see if i notice a difference

      Also use Evan's Waterless coolant.

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whats the benefit there?

  • @KarlLeinsing

    Take a butane torch to those frayed fibers to fix that

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kleinsing yeah i did that already i was just making a note of it. The torch idea works awesome gets it looking bran new again!

    just got my 850 home, now im all worried about the coolant tank hahaha thanks for the video!!!

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geolvich so far ive only seen it on the non pull start models so if yours has pull start i wouldnt worry as it braces the panel up

    • @Geolvich
      @Geolvich 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ahh ok that makes sense, my dealer had installed the pull start craddle behind the side door (mine is estart) he told me there was a warrenty issue and im quite sure that will act as the reinforcement you're referring to

    Thanks for the video.
    I bought two, a 165 and the 154. Question, ignorance really, which part number is the bag mounted behind the seat?
    I have the backpack, the tunnel bag and the fuel caddy but I missed that one.
    Thank again...

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff Eskelson not sure the exact part number but you need the battery cover to fit the bag that goes there it installs in literally a minute just ask your dealer they will know

    Isn't Interceptor Amsoil's suggestion for the etecs? Love your sled by the way; the new G4's look great!

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Icutmetal These sleds are oil injected so from my understanding you need injector oil. If you were mixing it in the tank then i dont think it matters but im not an expert either haha

    • @Icutmetal
      @Icutmetal 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RENNERGADE Gotcha; yeah I understand what you're saying, what I meant was that the Interceptor formula is designed for the higher technology direct injected engines vs the standard performance TCW3injector oil.

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not sure when i was reading the jugs it didnt say if it was good for injection systems or not so i went with the one that did. It had mixing ratios instead so i assumed it was for premix.

    • @SkidooMXZTNT
      @SkidooMXZTNT 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya, I think the interceptor oil is what you want. They did a bunch of testing to show that it runs perfectly in the etec engines. We've been running it in etecs for years without issues. Interceptor is recommended for etecs.

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      SkidooMXZTNT i guess ill research it next time i pick up some oil haha

    good video,,just a athought,,that track looks like its not aligned properly. its rubbing on the one side,,or is both sides like this?

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe Neault its on both sides all my new sleds have done it i think it just has to break in it is a tight fit in there haha

  • @akkenai417
    @akkenai417 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. A few guys I know have recommended cutting the bottom part of the clutch cowling off in order to increase air flow and eliminate some overheating issues. Would you recommend this?

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never blown a belt yet but before my last mountain trip i did cut that plastic out and removed the foam on the clutch side only. Still have not had any belt trouble and i am off break in now.

    Disconnect your sway bar linkage if you hit something you will crack aluminum bulkhead cast. Giving you heads up videos on it on TH-cam thanks Big Al Michigan

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive heard they are weak but i sent this thing on a ghost ride into a tree right on the left a arm and nothing even got scratched. knock on wood of coarse but i think its gonna be ok if i hit something and it breaks then ive really hit something. I also run full coverage insurance on my sleds haha

    • @alancall5113
      @alancall5113 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      RENNERGADE where the control rod goes through the bulkhead Ski-Doo made it out of cast aluminum when you have the links attached and hit hard transfers and cracks I would not want to replace that keep the shiny side up nice review Let It Snow

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alan Call what's it ride like when they are disconnected? I've never tried it before

    • @alancall5113
      @alancall5113 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      RENNERGADE little crazy in the corners when you trail ride something to get used to you'll have to try it you could make a pin system to where you can take them on and off when you trail ride

    Lookin to buy a sled not sure if I should go with a used 800 summit x or bite the bullet and go with the new 850, anyone have any advice? There’s no real good comparison videos between the two

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dylan Verbicky we made a video awhile back comparing cans on the 800 and 850. Both are great sleds after owning both and even at the same time.

    does it do any better on gas compared to the 800 etec

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even on break in i think it is

    • @rosskeene1913
      @rosskeene1913 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      RENNERGADE skidoo claimed that it would now use 40% less oil compared to 800etec. Have you noticed any difference

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well like i said its still on break in so its tough to say but i am nearing the end so we will see!

    • @powpirate
      @powpirate 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They did claim that last spring but then sent out a bulletin this fall saying that wasn't going to be the case.. Mine is really thirsty for oil! I like the performance of the sled, but the way it eats belts is just about a deal breaker.

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      powpirate mine is doing about a litre per 100km of gas.

    That's a Huge Downer , this Bombardier Ski-doo 800 2 stroke engine acting or feeling like a Diesel four Stroke ? no Powerband Hit on this thing or What ?

    Remove the sway bars before you crack your bulk head lol

  • @TheBCSledder

    Nice looking machine although I was surprised at terrible looking display. When you pay that much you'd think they'd do something with more features like Polaris did on the Axis. Heck even my 2008 IQ has a better looking display

    • @savethe2strokes
      @savethe2strokes  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my last skidoo has a better display also lol they took a swing i think its ok i just want them to move it so snow doesnt pile on it. Also add colour to the screen so you can see when idiot lights come on.

    if & When That piss Poor under Designed Weak Exsposed to Heavy knee banging Riders Coolant Resevour Cracks or Totally breaks clean off you have More than Sum Problems , Your Dead in the Water otherwise you keep going & try to limp that thing to the Truck your risking Cooking the inturnals big time. Dealers will love you , & i'll bet it's Not covered under Standard Warranty either sighting Abusive Abuse. Still i'd fab my own unkillable Coolant socalled Bottle. That Recall better come fast enough.
