That's why I love this community, even years later there will always be gems like this one to be discovered.
After all these years, still a totally original rendition of U.N.Owen. Nice
Now that we have *Cheating Detective Satori* giving Flandre the fleshed-out characterisation we've waited almost 19 years for, this arrange now fits her from a canonical standpoint:
A mysterious and powerful vampire with the knowledge of centuries behind her youthful appearance. Like her sister, she's sly, charismatic yet childlike, but with the addition of an offbeat quirkiness to her mannerisms. Despite living locked away for the past five centuries, she's content with her lifestyle for the luxurious catering provided to her daily, and enjoys playfully teasing those who enter her little domain.
Seeing how she didn't hesitate one bit before strangling Meiling, she might still have some psychopathic tendencies.

This arrangement is already breathtaking - a literal breath of fresh air in U.N. Owen renditions - but the image really sells it. It has...that pale complexion, that serious look, something the game's cartoonish Flandre never hoped to achieve. This isn't some lunatic or a nice little child, this is an actual vampire looking at a strange creature she's never seen. I love it. The originality goes with that of the song well.

@@hannahbg1852 It's stated in the novel that it's actually humans from the other side of the border that Yukari brought in to be eaten. That way, no human from Gensokyo goes missing.
I think I'm a bit late to this, but this definitely isn't an ordinary "calm" expression. Her lips are parted. Her eyes are more widely open than at a resting point. The dark spots of her lower eyelashes give a grim and somber aura to her eyes that definitely isn't childlike in any manner. The ambiguity of this picture is really its strength.
This... so unexpectedly still fits Flandre's playfulness. A little too playful nearly edging to prankiness level.
This has to be the most original take on “U.N. Owen Was Her?”. This is just brilliant, man. Keep doing what you do, and you just have yourself an awesome day.

This felt so refreshing considering how all of the other takes on this theme that I've heard felt the same in tone.
Probably because they're remixes?
I've come to see that the Touhou fandom got at least two things fundamentally wrong in interpreting the canon: one was Flandre Scarlet, and the other was Koishi Komeiji.
every time someone listens to this interpretation of her theme, they contribute to mending the total misunderstanding the fandom had with Flandre's character.
Is that necessarily a bad thing?
The way I see it, the main argument for sticking to canon is so that consensus could be had on as wide variety of issues as possible.
However, some derivative works are rather enjoyable, despite deviating significantly from the canon.
Are we to assume these authors and artists could've produced equally enjoyable content while sticking to the canon more? Alternatively, should we sacrifice some enjoyment for canon's sake?
Or is the issue simply that people believe these fanon interpretations are actually accurate?

literally the first arrangement ive heard thats not 3Spoopy5Me or something that belongs to a complete psychopath. this is a refreshing and wonderful arrangement that sounds like something that belongs to a masquerade. some parts have some sense of playfulness , and some parts are elegant and powerful , as if youre dancing with flandre the whole time. then theres the question; are you willing to waltz with the youngest scarlet sister all night long ?

I have a bad habit of skipping over U.N. Owen arranges because they're just so overdone. But this is such a unique rendition. I really love the classical take on this a lot!

This kind of reminds me of Paganini’s 24th caprice. How the song jumps from different styles so suddenly using the tune in a different way each time.

Didn't the Zimbabwean dollar's value go back up such that it doesn't cost ten billion dollars for a loaf of bread.
Zimbabwean dollar was only the second fastest hyperinflation, Hungarian pengõ being the most dramatic.
Hyperinflation can only be stopped by re-introducing the currency with gold standard. Because in the end, paper money is just slips of paper with an imaginary value, so if people suddenly stop acknowledging its value it becomes just paper. Gold standard makes sure the currency has value whether it's respected or not.
If you're interested you should really read the wikipedia pages for hyperinflation and different cases of it. Hyperinflation always boils down to "an idiot in the government thought the country becomes richer if he just prints more money".

I was excited to educate, ProtoZilla mainly, since they showed interest.
Though, I don't really know how your satire in the bottom adds up to anything, because ZUN makes Touhou for pretty much every other reason above money. "If all my fans disappear I'm still happy I can keep making the games I want."
