I was thinking about this horse just the other day, thinking about what a hole there would be in the horse world when he goes, then I found out he actually is gone, RIP champ, the flat world won’t be the same without your amazing progeny

In agreement, a huge blow to the coolmore operation, but wouldn't stop O'Brien winning the major G1 races. Santa Barbara + Bolshoi Ballet took the Belmont Oaks and Derby last night. O'Brien is leading trainer in Britan with just 8-9 winners, the others have had 50-80 winners. With his ammunition i can see him doing again this year. King George with Love. He's the only stallion that with these two little words, "By Galileo" forced punters and handicappers everywhere to look at the colt, gelding, or filly in that race as different, more than capable, or special. Their sharpness and determination to win the race. That's what sets him apart from other great stallions in my humble opinion.
It speaks of Danehill's loss when you consider that to the age of his death at 17, he was superior to Galileo in all the statistical sire categories. It also assesses the greatest sire in modern times when you consider they are but two major lines of Northern Dancer. When Galileo is in the blood of two thirds of the thoroughbred horses in the world we can begin to compare them.
