Glad to see the Beretta APX getting some love. Haven't seen too many videos about the APX since it was released. In my opinion, the Beretta APX line is one of the best (if not the best) deal you can get for handguns with the quality and features that you are getting. To me the trigger is a little spongy (love the break though) and taking out the trigger module is more difficult compared to other guns out there, but I don't really care about that at $300-325. You can almost buy two APXs for the same price as the popular handguns from other brands. I never own a Beretta handgun before (mainly own Sig and M&P with 1 Walther and 1 Glock), but I've been very happy with my APX.

  • @pinoy1hitko
    @pinoy1hitko 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

You can get 20 rounders with the extended base plate. I have 2 of them. This is also a modular frame design, so you can swap out frame colors since the trigger housing is the serialized part of the firearm. 😎🤙🏼 It's very simple to do. I swapped out the grey frame and put the black back strap on, and it looks mighty sexy

I had the same problem with my APX. I could not consistently group my shots for nothing. I couldn't figure out if it was me or the gun. I had a buddy try it out and he had better luck than I did but still not super consistent. None the less, I bid farewell to the APX.

I’m a lefty, so finding a pistol that’s ambi is hard. I had it narrowed down to the APX compact or the CZ P10C. Both guns had excellent reviews and both brands have a good reputation. I ended up choosing the Beretta just because it was $329. I love how the APX feels in my hand and the trigger may not be as good as the P10C, but it’s not a bad trigger and I can put that $100 that I saved on buying it over the CZ into the trigger if I end up not liking it. I agree that 8888 must have gotten a lemon. I’m sure he’ll figure out what’s wrong with it and get her fixed to show how good it really is.

Try a new or stronger recoil spring. A weak or out of spec spring will unlock the action too early. The bullet doesn't have time to leave the barrel before the next cycle. Sometimes there's a bad batch of parts, or manufacturers cuts corners. Outside of that it's more serious like the barrel.

I'm noticing that it shoots diagonally placed groups. Most likely there is some bigger movement in those directions. I would send it back to Beretta. They either grinded more from the barrel or drilled egg shaped hole in slide. Low left could be shooters fault, but high right most likely isn't.

Yeah, I agree on all of this trigger nonsense. Every gun is different and you must be adaptable. I have never been inaccurate with a single weapon to include single action revolvers, double action revolvers, semi auto handguns, semi auto rifles, bolt action rifles and 12 gauge shotguns. 30 years of shooting and I have yet to experience this sort of issue. This list also includes milsurp. I guess I could just be lucky in that regard. I have found that your mindset is the most important. I just see how a gun feels at first and then adjust what I'm doing to become accurate. I don't know about gun reviews anymore. I don't expect a gun to fit me. I expect to adapt to the gun.

I have recently acquire a APX Carry, and I felt the same as you... shots were all over the Place even at 10 yds. So, I thought it was me, but then, I shot with a Sig 320 and later with a Glock 23 and got way better groups. The APX isn’t a bad gun but I think there is something about it that have you getting 4-6” groups at ranges as close as 7-10yds. So, it wasn’t you having a bad day!

It was him. A apx carry is way smaller than a p320. Of course you're going to have better grouping with a full size firearm that a carry. Less recoil.

I bought mine from PSA about 2 weeks ago for $329. Honestly only run 300 rounds through it so far. You are right about the trigger being spongy. It fed everything, but groupings were not great. Ergonomics really aren't bad.

@@dallasparty316 Honestly it is not a bad pistol. My CZ has a better trigger. I don't think I would buy it again, But I will hang on to it. I think at the $330 price it isn't a bad deal.

Fits terrific in my hand and shoots well for me. I like the design, but I'm a novice and didn't know that mags that fit aesthetically into the grip and inverse serrations are ugly. Have the full size, getting a Centurion next, and then a Compact frame to see which size is best for EDC.

At in 2016 i was down to 2 pistols, apx n the p320..after having everyone say sig i choose the p320. N it may of been the single n only correct choice ive made in my life. I love the p320s, i have many and i can shoot them really, really good...but since beretta re-released the APX n reduced pricing for a combat pistol that was directly made for the military trails. Ill probably get it now....well those wondering shots aren't very great.

I just bought a apx compact because it was so cheap. I wanted a decent cheap gun i could conceal when I’m working outside. Ive taken it to the range once along with a Glock 19 I just bought. I was pleasantly surprised with its accuracy, and was shooting it just as good as the 19. I’ve not put many rounds thru it yet, but I was happy with my purchase. I’m still a Glock fanboy though.

Hey Eric obviously I’m a little late to the party. Not sure if you still have/shoot this APX. I have all four versions of the APX and absolutely love all of them. For the full size they do have an extended 21 round magazine available.

Can you guys please do a comparo between the APX, PX4 and 92FS/M9? I'd love to know your thoughts on how they compare! I own a 90-Two (that late-2000's 92 redesign that didn't get as much love as the 92A1) and I think it's fantastic but the PX4 and APX intrigue me.

The trick to getting good groups with this gun for me was getting use the trigger and configuring using the a palm swell that fits your hand right. The guy who sold me this gun had larger hands and I couldn’t get my finger around the trigger, which hurt my groups, but after replacing the palm swell with a smaller one I was getting groups equal to my sig P320. The guy traded me the APX for an old Eotech and I have to say it’s a great gun. My only complaint about it is that the recoil spring is so strong that you could potentially slip off of the slide when trying to rack a round in with wet hands or in a slippery situation. But hey, a for a reliable modern firearm, under $300, I couldn’t be happier.

There are 21-round extended magazines available. Beretta is being very aggressive with their pricing on these things. Many people find that the larger backstrap allows them to shoot a little more accurately, since the APX uses very small grip circumferences in their design. In my experience, the APX pistols that I have shot are capable of 2" groups at 25 with good ammo, and 2.5" - 4" with cheaper stuff. I think a lot of people initially struggle with the small grips and different trigger. My APX target so far promises to be even more accurate.
It's very possible you got a lemon, but I've seen a lot of people struggle with their APX triggers and grips initially before they get things squared away. At any rate, mine shot very well with Tac-XP Black Hills 115gr +P. If you're not able to get a 2" - 3" group with match ammo, I'd definitely think you got a lemon.
At any rate, you're not alone in having an "off day" the first time you get your APX out there, and I haven't read anything about out of spec APX's shooting with poor accuracy on things like the Beretta Forum outside of one or two who's frames were out of spec and switching out the frames fixed the accuracy issues (something you could try). In fact, if it were showing serious signs of consistently not shooting well, the first thing I would do is try a frame swap on the gun, as that's the only thing I've seen in the wild affect the accuracy.
