I just bought the attachment and mounted it on my 1 hp Jet. Mounted it on the left side so I could easily use the flat platten or the flexible belt. Seems like a better arrangement than the right side.
The eight inch wheel one , would be good if you made a decent tool rest. I have had the smaller one for years, and would have bought the eight inch grinder, except at that time you had seemed to stop making them.

I grew up with one of these... LOVED it. Had no idea you could lock it 'open' for a belt change. (yes, I'm in Australia)
