It's not a spool inside moving, its actually called a plunger. It's a softer metal pin surrounded by a lightweight spring. Also the pin will have a rubber tip on the end of it. When current is applied to the coil an electro magnetic field is created which then grabs ahold of the pin by overpowering the spring tension and forcing the pin further into the solenoid cavity, thus uncovering the tiny vent the rubber tip normally keeps covered and sealed.

Thanks for the video. I have a question. My plow suddenly lost power while serving and randomly pulled the positive cable and the plow lifted but it was like a bad connection. So I plow guy came by and said the cable to the motor was loose. What do I do to rectify this situation??

Quick question for you- I've been working on my Meyer E47 pump after having numerous issues. Your videos have proven extremely helpful! But I ran into an issue tonight I'm hoping you can help with. I had to repair the wire on my B valve so I removed the solenoid from the valve itself. When I went to re-tighten the solenoid retaining nut, the stud snapped. I don't need my angle rams (nor want them right now since one leaks and I believe is a big part of my problems), so can I use the C valve to lift the plow? I realize I'd either need to move the C valve into the B valve port, or use my angle right switch to lift my plow. I just need a fix for now so I can clean up my property, nearest dealer is an hour away unfortunately.

No, the B and C Coils are the same, but the Valves are not interchangeable. Sounds half assed and crazy, but you can put a hose clamp around the B Coil with a wire under it, and attach the other end to ground. Wrap the block with duct tape to hold the Coil over the Valve and it will work. It will get you through what you need to do. If you have a larger hose clamp, you can clamp the B and C Coils together, and the clamp will ground the B Coil to the C Coil and not move.

Chase Bolyard So you say the COILS ARE THE SAME .? End of season Have the plow locked in in straight position WITH BOLT just need it to lift SO CAN I JUST SWAP THE ANGLE COIL WITH THE LIFT AND GET IT TO WORK AS THE ANGLE ONE DOES WORK NOW BUT I DON T NEED TO ANGLE AND THE LIFT COIL DOESN T CLICK WHEN I DID THE TEST OF THE BATTERY WITH WIRE AND BULLET PLUG WIRE END CONNECTED TO CELLULOID WIRE NO CLICK

L.D. McMarlin yes my understanding is that you could swap your B and C valves to get your plow to lift.

NO, the B and C Valves are different, the Coils are the same.

The stud on my b valve broke off. Do you know what type of metal the valve is made of? was wondering if I can weld a new stud on. Or if I can tap it out. Didn't know if the stud was machined as part of the valve or was screwed in there.

Looking at the exploded diagram, it appears to be a machined part of the valve. One piece

I'm expecting the same thing did you fix yours and what was it,I'm new to Meyers

If it's been sitting outside or still on truck, it's probably stuck and need some extra force to go down. Try a mini sledge hammer and hit it while pressing down.

I have done everything in your videos and I can’t get my e60 to go down, it will go left right up but no down I have orders new and used A ones but still no luck help please

The E-60 has adjustable drop speed. Maybe the adjusting screw is turned in all the way? On the front is two plugs you will need an 11/16" to remove. The higher one on the left is the drop speed. Remove the plug, and using a 3/16" allen socket or wrench, try backing the screw out one full turn. Put the plug back in and try it again. IF it made a difference, adjust carefully. Turn in to slow down, out to speed up drop. Put plug back in after each adjustment or you will get a bath.

Hi I have an e47. Sometimes it seems I don't have power when I try to lift. Sometimes when I lift it angles. I ran jumper from battery to plow and the motor kicks on so I know that works. I replaced the A selonoid and also ran a ground from the truck frame to the plow frame in case it wasn't getting a good ground. Still have the same issues, any ideas? Could it be I need to replace the B and C?
    Thanks

Did you remove the A Valve and test it like in the above video? Before removing the A Valve, the plow must be on the ground or supported with a sturdy jack or jackstand. IT can't be allowed to move down at all, and should be raised enough to unhook the chain, and then supported. THEN the A Valve can be removed. Once the A valve is removed, you can push the lift arm down by hand SLOWLY, and catch the fluid that is going to come out of the hole where the A Valve was. When removing the A Valve, go slowly, so the pressure on it releases slowly. This is why the plow has to be supported. IF you want to do it neater, you can pull the filter plug on the front, the lower one is the one you want to remove. Same thing, go slow, let pressure escape, tighten plug. The A Valve sees more use than any other because when the plow is on the ground in float, the A Coil is getting power to hold the A Valve open the whole time. The B and C only see use for a few seconds at a time. The only other thing that will stop it from going down other than the Coil and Valve is blockage. The #1 most common blockage? ICE. IF there is water in the unit and it gets in the teens or lower, it is going to freeze. The return port for the A Valve is tiny, it regulates the drop speed of the plow, it does not take much to block off. IF your fluid is milky looking, it has water in it.
