Something to note: When you're a complete beginner and you've just opened the app the work space is not set up like yours. Mine looks bare! So I've got to go searching for the tools that you click on. Would love a tutorial on setting up the workspace.
How do you get your shapes to automatically get drawn on the outline of the other shape? I have to move it to the outline. How does yours snap to the line?

Copy, then paste in place from the Edit menu and using the 'snap to' menu of options possibly?
