Updates from Jeath:
- Alts are able to now skip some of the questline, this change was implemented same day as video release
- Those saying the sanity protection doesn't work in raid are correct, another recent change made that portion of the cloak only work in the horrific visions. During our 3 revisions of this video through changes this was missed.
Also 8:54 you said 10k instead of 1k but we can see. Just pointed out c;
At 7:25, you will never receive a cloak upgrade on your first (intro) vision, the quest to receive an upgrade is given after this. You won't be behind if you die / fail the first (intro) vision.
But didn't blizz themself reconfirm in their official survival guide that the cloak will help with the bosses? I knew about the changes mentioned on wowhead which is why I was surprised when I watched the survival guide and it claimed that it would help

does that mean that the cloak is just for horrific visions and the resist effect doesnt work in m+/ arena etc?

1. Assuming that I don't know the difference between your and you're, rather than assuming that it was a simple oversight on my part is the same as assuming that I am stupid.
2. People who feel the need to correct the grammar of strangers on the internet are almost as bad as the trolls that frequent these comment sections, not quite, but almost.
3. There are far nicer ways of correcting someones grammar than the attitude implied by a single word respone followed by three full stops.

@@kelly89420 I agree with most of your points, although the first point I don't agree with. An oversight would be something like typing you'ree instead of you're. You don't simply oversee grammar. (Just my opinion, your mileage may vary I suppose)
Other than that - good points. Although the way you responded to it sarcastically probably isn't the nicest way to tell someone you don't like the way they're talking to you either.
Also, I'd like to point out that I never said the way he did it was the correct way, I never even involved the other commenter in the conversation.
Besides all this, I think you can be plenty smart while not having perfect grammar. I never intended to call you stupid at all.

@Dawn H Me too, main issue sometimes was lag, and in trying to take it into account your character would end up going splat.. :(
I really appreciated the video, especially the very specific tip of just getting upgrades, especially at the beginning. I can see it would be very easy to check around the Vision and only realizing too late that you don't have sanity left for the main objective.
Perfect guide. Love it. I just feel like I’m going too ham already lol. Cloak is Rank 6, and now I’m out of Coalescing Visions until next week OR if I continue grinding out Vale and Uldum(won’t happen). The content isn’t as alt friendly to me as I’d hope, but it’s still one of the better content patches I’ve seen. Really love the horrific visions, and really happy that you can’t just go in first time and solo the entire thing. Progression is good.

Arrrgh. I got in, saw a clear path to Thrall's two guards, and went straight for them - aggroing huge packs from both sides who proceeded to stomp me into the ground. So much for getting that very first cloak upgrade :(
Nice to know I wasn't the only one to do this exact same thing. Those shamans made quick work of me.
Same here. As a rogue, I thought I'd waltz over to the guards, give them a slap and proceed to kill Thrall. Half way to the guards something took me out of stealth, which promptly aggroed everything on both sides of the path, plus the guards, and pulverised me. On the next run I went along the right side, killing things as I went and managed to get to Thrall, but ran out of sanity when Thrall had a couple of percent health left. I think that I'm not going to exactly shine in these visions, and I'm not sure I like them very much, either. Having to grind them doesn't seem like fun. We'll see.

Slow, concise and extremely educational words. Excellent video very very well explained. The only thing I would add would be a minimum of Ilvl to enter for the first time. Most of the tutorials show the end and never the beginning, applause.

They've added 2 skips that I've found so far, looks like that's about it though
1 the first halls of origination scenario, accept quest then talk to Magni to initiate skip

this was extremely helpful, and I'm glad I checked it out before patch day. The progression system for the horrific visions reminds me a lot of the scenario quest in Suramar to train the nightborne how to fight in the tunnels -- something you have to work up to full clears on as you upgrade your team.
watching this in the last days of BfA to enjoy it a bit before it's made completely obsolete

Oh btw, You can skip the scenarios after completing them on your main character. But you still have to complete the quest line.

This looks interesting, but I think the high stakes of missing a cloak upgrade kinda ruin the whole thing, since most people will go for the safe route till there's enough upgrades to make the other zones not risky.
The point is if you play as a group and have good gear from 8.2 then you can take the risk. But most likely solo yull want to play it safe.
Risk is what makes it interesting. Wow is way too handholding nowadays.
high risk high reward is the first exciting thing wow dares to do in ages... git gud or get fkd. I like that alot.

I feel that it will increase frustration why not set some DR once '3 upgrades achieved per week' rather than its do or die and you will always be behind. ! screw up and people will just quit seems bad to me from a dev pov

I screwed up 2 of my keys and finally got a guild mate to go through it was so much easier thsbk for this info I just posted this in my guild

The don't explore advise is exactly why I'll do at least my first 5 cloak upgrades solo. Once you can recharge your sanity meter after completing your first vision you can kind of kill all the mobs in the first area though for some extra memento's with near 0 risk.
Very helpful for a returning player, my paladin will cleanse this purple tentacle disease!

this was me, i lost out on 3 upgrades because thrall was literally 1 ability away from dieing when i lost all sanity....
not just you..... my WA was above the sanity orb so I didnt see it and was scrambling to find it in my bags.... perks of being one of the first to play in visions without looking at guides
I don't understand how to kill thrall at all, Do i need info on him to get the kill? Am i missing something, How do i fight him in such a small space with a mm hunter?

Its worth pointing out that there is a cap on cloak progression that will increase every week, Week one it was capped at 6 and will increase one per week until 15 That means its not really the end of the world if you fail one of your visions, you can easily catch up.
Video was spot on, as for the content itself, feels bad to fall behind, even if you aren't doing the serious mythic progression. Will it hold 'till Shadowlands, probably not. Hard for me to be excited for anything BFA-related. Legion had the upside of optional mage tower, this feels like if you aren't doing it then you are just a loser, lol.
