You almost destroyed that familys relationship as her sons had already told her they didnt want to sell. Also, That xbox 360 bundle for $100 was already worth it, and then you asked for half price? Way to fleece people Why not just go hunting around for good deals that the sellers have priced themselves? You found a few really good ones like that, and that should be good enough. No need to pressure people into selling stuff they don't even want to sell or asking for a further discount on already highly undervalued items. These are country folk, not a big box retail store. I would have paid the $100 for that 360 stuff and felt great that I had found a good deal. I would feel terrible asking for a further discount on that.

If they’re purchasing to resell, then whatever. But I’ve seen the crew pay top dollar for collection pieces that won’t be resold. It all depends on what the end goal is.
