    I was going to go out and buy some additional racks, and then I ran across this video. Not anymore! Thanks Jeff!

    These plans and video make this project easy. Today I'm building my 4th wine rack from these plans. We have the first three almost filled and have more wine on its way. :-)

      Very cool! A great benefit of modular projects like this! Do you have a dedicated wine space / wine cave to store all of them?

      @@JeffsDIYProjects Yes we do have a large cellar space. The recent one was a gift.

    Great video, good quality editing. Only thing I would do differently would be to 45 the ends of the X piece to fit more presentably into the cube. but great work.

      Agreed Kyle, just takes a bit more work and measuring bit certainly improves the look!

    👍🏾 just a tip, Use biscuits glue and like 3 pocket screws. It’ll line up nice.

    • @JeffsDIYProjects
      @JeffsDIYProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely many approaches and ways to build these, thanks. I honestly hadn't thought of using biscuits for this build Biscuits would allow the box to be made into a perfect square, since using the pocket screws the way I did required me to offset the sides by about 1/8".

    Great vid. I noticed that your cat didn't make a cameo this time (lol). Is that pine that you used? I am thinking of making this for a friend that really loves pine

    • @JeffsDIYProjects
      @JeffsDIYProjects  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jon Cooper That cat is away on business, and wasn't able to make it for this video. It is indeed pine, however you can use whatever you have available. Your friend might prefer something made out of 'carving wood'.

      +Chris Koutoulogenis You can see the project write-up at jeffsdiy.com/winecube/ . I used a Pine 1″x10″ (note that a 1×10 is actually 3/4″ thick).

    Any advice on mounting to a wall?

    • @JeffsDIYProjects
      @JeffsDIYProjects  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to the amount of weight (24 full wine bottles would weigh 30+ pounds by themselves), It would be best if it could be resting on something rather than anchored directly on the wall as-is. However, if I had to, I'd screw a plywood backing onto the cube. Then I would center it over a wall stud and screw directly into that (right down the center of the cube) and adding some decent sized washers. For added support, I'd also add a small wooden triangle bracket centered underneath the cube. Good luck!

    Shouldn’t you have placed the pocket screws from outside the box toward the meatier part of the board?

    • @JeffsDIYProjects
      @JeffsDIYProjects  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are correct, however they would be more visible that way. To counteract this, I offset the boards by 1/8" or so to give them more to bite into.
