They could have been reproductions, not the original.

You don't wear gloves when touching old manuscripts, as it's easy to accidentally damage the paper due to lack of tactile feedback from gloves. The preferred method is with clean, dry hands.

I agree that we need to live the world put of poverty! It will make the entire world better. We have tons of existing wealth to be redistributed in a lopsided society and need to do so. Auctioning original works is questionable because it means they could disappear from the public eye. These documents need to be duplicated, protected & shared as world knowledge 🌏🌎🌍
