I’m looking forward to it!!! I’m an Avante owner since it came out in 1988!! I was 13 years old when I got mine, it hibernated in my parents crawl space till a few years ago and I totally resorting moded it with the new 2011 parts and it’s a shelve queen/the occasional cruise up and down the driveway…
Its starting to grow on me too. The more centralised suspension means more weight tot he centre. The steering and speed at turn in looks amazing. This is a warm up car to a TRF TF4
I think the chassis looks like it will make a good runner, and if you get a unpainted body you could work on the looks of the buggy. I think I will get one , it has grown on me since I first saw it . I like the fact that it has some character . They should of just made it a stand alone buggy and not called it an Avante.
I agree it grows on ya, did the same to me. I'm a sucker for box art so I'd go that route myself, but I could imagine a cool paint scheme really bringing this kit to life.
I'm glad you have come round. Well done. :-) I think that's it, it is new. People were shouting out for something new then when they get it they think ohh, it is too funky. I get your point about the wheels but a lot of people stopped using those wheels because they are heavy etc. I guess Tamiya thought lets spend R&D on the chassis and front suspension. I get why some people don't like the name and I think it is pricey. I would have liked to have seen some hop ups included such as metal bodied shocks etc. But on the whole I think it is a good way to go.
Hi Phil. I must admit I haven't paid much attention to this new Tamiya release and have only seen a few photo's of it. But when you mentioned the Holiday Buggy wheels I scrolled down to the link to the official Tamiya video of this Avante and watched it for the first time. I have to agree with you about the wheels my friend. It's a shame they decided to recycle them and didn't come up with something new. I also have to agree with Mad-Bee and think they should've called it something totaly new and not affiliated it with the Avante name. Now it's always going to be compared to the other versions of the Avante and doesn't stand a chance of being judged on it's own merits, whatever they may be. However, saying all that, it isn't a bad looking buggy and reminds me of the Formula E cars. It's what I call a "Grower", because over time it will grow on me and I may eventually buy a used one a few years down the line for a more sensible price 😄. Much like I've done with the majority of my RC collection 😁. Oh and I'd thought I'd mention that the first thing I did with my Holiday Buggy was change the yellow wheels to the black ones on the DT-03 Racing Fighter! postimg.cc/QFBfTtDv Excellent video Phil. It's great to see all your hard work and watch your channel grow so quickly over the past year 👍👍Well done my friend. Have a great week 😀👍
Thanks for the great comment and all the support Derek! I like your term "grower" it explains it well. It's already grown on me, hence this video. Great looking Holiday Buggy! 👌
Good man, I like where your head's at! Tamiya states the body is polycarbonate but they didn't mention whether it came painted or not. My gut says it's unpainted but I'm not 100% sure. 👊
Good video👍 I'm loving it myself😍 how many rc manufacturers these days build an all new rc buggy so well done tamiya with that? Most of them just tinker with existing chassis! I'm just hoping it also comes in the tamiya white box🙏
Thanks Phil. Yeah not a lot of totally redesigned stuff out there, lots of recycled chassis' and parts, which I understand from a manufacturing and cost prospective. But as a consumer it sure is nice to see something new!
I'm really liking the Super Avante, deffo gonna get one! The WD40 colorscheme might need some tweaking for my part. Isnt it a bit "leading" the viewer, to say it has the wheels of the holiday buggy. You might as well say it has the wheels of the Top Force Evo, and that its like really cool, if you wanted to push a counter idea for how cool the wheels are? Espessially since the top force out ages the holiday buggy which had these particular wheels in 2010, while the top force in 90s stuff... Just saying.
Good call on the WD-40 colours, never picked up on that. I'm not trying to lead a viewer to anything, simply stating my gut reaction. Like I said in the vid, I don't dislike the wheels, but I feel the Avante name warrants something a little more unique in the wheel department. 👊
Doesn't seem to have much in common with the original, and you know it's going to be insanely expensive, I think i'd go for a serious buggy at that price range. but still a unique car for sure!
Been so busy I didn’t even see the notification. Your reaction is close to the same to some of the other channels. The color scheme is it’s weak point since the yellows are mismatched huh. A new scheme will change the dynamics completely. The car reminds me of the old school race cars.
FZERO SHOUTOUT! Yes a childhood game for me. Good video, dont be shy to share your opinion, theres more than 7billion opinions around the world and we all have a different upbringing!
Thanks for watching! I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible, the motor has plenty of mounting holes to fit up to any motor plate out there. The only issue I would anticipate would be the height of the esc. The Suoer Avante has a very low slung body and the Firma esc is very tall, it might not fit.
The Tamiya TD4 SUPER AVANTE, is the BEST performance BUGGY ever produced, it beats the TRF BUGGIES in performance, lap times were tested at Tamiyas race track vs all Tamiya cars of the past
I LIKE THE NEW TD4 .I really want to get this new kit .Its different thats why I like it .Cool new and different buggy> I just hope its not bookoo dollars.I hope cost is not more than .$375.00
The fenders are the only super funky things on that body. So cool and retro. But having them with those futuristic see-thru “cut outs”..dunno about that. Bit of a mish-mash.
@@poorboysrc yeah it may grow on me, but still not feeling it. I’m trying to like the whole design, really I am, but that front end just reminds me too much of Gonzo from the Muppet Show.
So to be fair. I am late into the AVANTE game so to say. On the other channels RCKicks and Tamiya Legends. They kept putting the 2011 out front the more I kept seeing it the more I appreciate it. So this pass Friday I received my 2011 box kit not opened and on Saturday I received my started but not completed Avante MKII. 2001 Avante out of my price range. Aero Avante might get one not sure. So now on the Super Avante liked it right away except the ugly rims. The designer of the Super Avante reached out to RCKicks and told him by text that the rims were not his choice. I thought the fender flares were ok but one of those things that i am sure people will leave off. The battery the way you have to put it in. Is my head scratching item.but since it will be around November/December till we see them plenty of time to think it over
