Ace is an important person in my musical history. It was all Top 40 radio until I saved my nickels and bought my very first album at age 9 - KISS Alive II. Mind blown. The man launched a zillion guitar players and bands and is still doing his thing. Respect.

This guy is still kickin it at 72. Ace is a (awesome) guitarist, and you can hear that in what his fingers are doing not so much his voice. I first heard him live back when he was only 26 years old, and when it comes to what he can do with a pick in his fingers he hasn't lost a step!
Might be technology but I think he sounds better. Plus he has his whole band providing backing vocals and harmonies.

Regardless of what you think about Ace Frehley , his playing style , his live act good or bad, he’s stood the test of time.
Idk how many people thought they could do better after leaving a band and fell flat on their face.
It’s been what 3 /4 decades and still doing well. Only wish Peter could’ve done the same.
From all appearances Ace is doing better than he was during those 3/4 decades. Fully agree with you on Peter.
Peter has a great voice for certain songs, and his drumming style fits certain songs well. But he's neither a multi instrumentalist nor much of a songwriter without help.
He didn't ever really fall flat on his face..........he just had no desire to chase the spotlight.....he already lived the lifes of 10 men.
good point. The difference is apparent on the 78 solo records. Only Ace's is great and sounds like the KISS I always love. So post KISS, he would do well. I think as a life long KISS fan, I would say it like this. Paul, Gene, and Peter all have their own ideas of what they would do if KISS was their solo project. The reason,Ace got the gig, and stands the test of time, I s because he is naturally the best outcome of all those influences. Ace is rock n roll, not jazz, not Mowtown, not the Beatles. He's as big a fan of rock n roll as we are. We all love him for it, warts and all. Of the original 4 Ace was and is the guy that is us.

Ace has already spent time living in the past. Saw him in the early 90's, it was awful. The two songs from his new album I've heard so far sound the way I hope they would, comfortable familiar without being a repeat of past efforts, they show some growth too. I'm happy for him!
@@tt55899I'll disagree but not so much that you couldn't change my opinion. His past efforts to me felt like he was trying to prove his critics wrong by attacking their criticisms of him musically by doubling down on the criticism. Here it seems we have Ace doing a really nice job of surrounding himself with musicians who can mitigate his weaknesses while he plays to his strengths. The past critics weren't wrong but that doesn't mean he's not a great talent too.

Cool swing beat. It's a grower song, meaning you like it more each time you listen. I would love to see Ace do three new songs.

Sometime in 1975, I was 8 and the family was driving in the station wagon .. Rock And Roll All Nite comes on the radio, and I immediately loved it .. I will never forget saying "I like this song" from the backseat, and my older sis - who was in the front - turns and says "It's that band that wears the makeup" .. I had no idea .. So my Dad pulls into a store here in NJ called RJ Mars because they had a big record section .. As we were walking towards the records, I see a big display for KISS ALIVE! and my life was forever changed ... Love this Cherry Medicine, god bless ya Ace, keep rockin'

For sure. This takes me back to that classic Ace Frehley/(original) Kiss sound. The kind of music that makes you feel good. His former bandmates tried to recapture that, but their attempts came across as cold, and cynical, and disingenuous and didn't work. This is the real Ace, and it works! Love every minute of it!
Ace has always been my favorite Kiss guy, he didn't have the ego that Gene and Paul had, what you got out of Ace was real feeling and real Groove, that's why I still follow him today, because he's real just like his music!

I don't know if I would buy into what you are saying. Yes, he does new music, but it isn't a new sound. I have listened to Ace for a very long time, and he is still Ace. You need to remember he is still cashing checks from the Brand. That's why he is careful only to raise enough drama to get people to buy more from the Brand. Gene and Paul have nothing to prove, they made their money and let's face facts, the money isn't there in the music business as it was prior to the Inet. The Concerts were making Kiss money not the new albums. Don't get me wrong this is a good song but is it as good as Shock Me (even the hit of black leather). I can even hear some auto tune in the words medicine.
Except for the fact that most of what he plays live is Kiss material. Not sure why he doesn't play more of his own material like Words Are Not Enough and his other Frehley's Comet material. It's better musically than most of what he plays from Kiss IMHO.
@@daveb661 The reason he plays so much KISS content is because, first and foremost people want to hear that music when he tours. And if he doesn't play x-y-z song from the past people complain. Kind of a cant win for lose situation. IMO. This album has some pretty good tracks on it though, and IF the band can perform them well live, i think Ace should learn into it more.. Im rooting for him.
What a wonderful surprise from Ace Frehley in 2024!!! So fresh and new sounding, not like the overplayed heavy grunge, grunting or thrash music that is popular in Europe; just good American pop/ rock and roll with a catchy lyric and melody.

Laura is the one in black clever her daughter is the one with leopard on and the other girls is one of the guitars his wife and the other one is the daughters friend Ace lives with Laura and her children and her dog in New Jersey. They do not live in another state they live together.

This is the first time since the 70s kiss albums that I would put a song on over and over and over again I love this video too. The style of this video is so cool.

Coming from someone that bought Ace's solo album when it came out in '78 while in college, I can say this already.
The Songs ,Cherry Medicine, 10,000 Volts, and Fightin For Life are as good if not better than the three Best "Ace written" songs off of his acclaimed '78 effort. And that is saying a LOT!!

I like this song, it's a good hard rocker. First time i saw Ace was on the Love Gun Tour in 1977 at the Cow Palace in Daly City on the night Elvis Presley passed away. August 16th 1977. Cheap Trick was the opening act. Great night of hard rocking music!!!!!!!! 👍🎸

Been Ace & KISS fan for almost 50 years. I’m so happy for him with sobriety and being so healthy. You can hear it in his music how fired up he has been about the new album. You would think it’s first record ever. Again you can hear in the record he gave it a 100%. (Better than some other people). I’m a retired disabled vet (served 26 years), and your music has travelled with me all over world, every deployment, ever combat tour. I would have the toughest day and Aces music (Solo or his KISS era) always got me recharged and fired up again. (And put a smile on my face). Don’t listen any of the naysayers (especially the two who who names rhymes with Bean & Wall) , the new album kicks a$$, is fantastic, and we’re proud of you. (Make sure you come to Colorado, I got kids & two Grandkids who are dying to see the Legend Ace live!!!!) 🤘😎🇺🇸
