If olivie blake didn’t want me to go on multiple very long tangents about theology for every one of her books then she shouldn’t write books that make me want to go on multiple very long tangents about theology. anyway if you’re a sad tragic ancient man, call me.

YES! You hit the nail on the head. What sucks about this book is that Vi doesn’t matter and is “just along for the ride.” And I paid for a ticket to a movie that is supposed to be about a vampire realtor only to find out that it doesn’t matter and she’s not really an important character

Always so excited to see you update! I gotta be honest, I didn't really understand what the book was about, but I did immensely enjoy your multiple tangents - I find it so interesting to listen to people talk about things they're passionate about!!
(also I'm from Germany and found your comments about German characters very funny xD)
Also as a side note - I really like the little gems below your eyes (unsure if that qualifies as like. Makeup? Either way I think they look really cool)!!

lolllll the plot is so all over the place and yet so simple I truly don't think I could explain it in a better way if I tried. but im glad you enjoyed!! and ty, they're rhinestones I stuck on with eyelash glue! I think they're meant for costume makeup
lol my mom is from Zurich so I feel qualified to speak on Germans even though I am most certainly not! very glad to have support from an actual German, danke schön!

this is exactly the conversation that I need to see. Because I could not understand what I did not like about the story. You hit the nail on the head for me. It was an okay read but I could not get beyond certain things to give it a higher liking that I have for it. Love Fox and Brandt and Death but I could do without everyone else.

side note; I would be cool with a book on Mayra and Cal because those glimpses were interesting.

@@manuelli88 definitely! and I vibe with vi as a real estate agent selling haunted houses, too, I would read a book just about that

I agree with your assessment. I want to like it and like the idea of it. But there are too many characters and it’s to convoluted for what it is. I wanted the vampire/ghost/realtor story, which is how the story starts, which I really liked and then at like 25% of the way through the focus becomes angels and the Greek pantheon and that kind of stuff, which was not what I signed up for. And all the stuff about “the game” and “winning” and “losing” that is just not interesting enough to elicit a feeling of mystery for me.

same! i almost feel like she could have written two separate books here- the vampire realtor in the haunted house, and the whole deal with fox and the game. together it was just too much going on, even though the concepts were really solid!
      ty for watching :)

I get app your critiques; however, I have two counter opinions. I despise Brandt with my entire heart and soul. And I think I disagree with you for most of the things you criticized for being unintentional. For me, they served the purpose of making the book fun as well as meaningful. Great review, though!

LOLLLL i love that you despise brandt, i don’t remember what i said in this video but he did irk me. yes i cried over him and fox but that is beside the point.
and that’s totally fair! thanks for watching and engaging with me even though you disagreed :) happy hear your thoughts!
