Guest speaker is right a lot needs ti change in schools. But social media, financial literacy, healthy life style, mental well being are statutory parts of Social/Personal Education now and have been for a few years now.

Kudos to the fellas for highlighting and discussing it just wish more people who have actually experienced or are living with Mental Health conditions would speak about it from actually experiences. Those are ways in which it educates others. Kudos to Alex as he has and is someone well versed and actually knows about the topic.

We have got an epidemic of weak and soft men mate…
Most of’em looking to gain victimhood.

@@NeverTrustaSocialist the whole point of this is to get men to come forward and talk about for example, trying to kill themselves or suffering with depression, meaning majority of men keep quiet and bottle up things to keep up that smile or work etc. Just shows you haven't even watched this. Is it weak to power on through it? Is it weak to try to ignore something until it takes your life? While I agree with you kudos points today are gained by being a victim or being offended, this is not what the problem with male depression or suicides among men. If you are going to say things on the Internet at least make them correct and meaningful 👍

      @@Mikethamanc My thoughts?
Well, you misunderstood my original thought soo let’s see how we go this time.
Mental issues are real, I had severe anxiety from a bad breakup 2 years ago. So mental health is a real thing and there’s people with real real disorders and issues. Granted.
But now we are in a time where every little thing is being labelled as some issue and to make matters worse, it’s sensationalised and allowed to infest. No one anymore talks about toughing it out. 1 in 7 people (Western world) have seen counsellors/shrinks. 1 in 5 are on regular/seasonal anti psychotic prescriptions. The damages of which are being hidden for obvious reasons.
Playing the victim has now been normalised to the point where a lot of bad actors use that as a shield to deter from their incompetences and responsibilities.
In a somewhat related story, you can read up on the research from Dr Shanna Swan, how in the last three decades our testosterone levels, sperm count have drastically declined hence unprecedented levels of impotence amongst men.
Due to the growing presence of phthalates(plastics) around us…
Which is also compounding to the problem.
As the physical, emotional and mental are all related.
Then there’s what’s happening in Europe - state takeover of farmland.
Bill Gate owning 72% of farmland in USA which he has after buying taken out of farm use.
My point being, there’s soo many evil injustices happening in the world and it helps the elite to get away if we have a society full of weak men.

We have been talking about mental health more than ever and as a result we have more depressed people than ever.
It may feel nice to pay attention and coddle men but it doesn’t actually help anything men have duty and responsibility. The best thing to tell people is not it’s okay to be weak it’s to tell them life is suffering, your suffering is not unique and it’s the universal human condition from the beginning of time until now.
The concepts of depression need to be removed from our vocabulary. I am never sad I am just less happy on certain days believing in this mystical thing called mental health that can come and take away all your power is giving it power then we have a bunch of men hooked on anti depressants living in their own misery cos we’ve created this fairytale that life is about happiness even though we all know everybody we love is going to die we are all going to suffer failure and die ourselves.
This coupled with the fact there is no scientifically sound evidence like a brain scan for depression for me makes it counter productive we promote weakness (living in your feelings) to solve the problem yet being weak makes you less able to deal with inevitable struggle that is coming.

The reason no one had any sympathy for Stan Collymore was what was being reported as his treatment to women. These guys might be to young to know or the fact that Stan is also a Talksport colleague.
In Stan's defence he re-educated himself sought forgiveness from the people he hurt. He is now someone who to i respect as a football writer and pundit.

Dr Alex George has pulled the wool over peoples eyes since everyone was calling him the nice guy of reality TV. He treated women like dogshit on narcissist island, cheated on his most recent girlfriend on more than one occasion and his family blatantly are so focused on money and being successful that young kid brother of his felt incredibly pressured by them and it done him no favours at all. Rory Jennings has swiftly changed his tune from saying men should man up to giving them a shoulder to cry on in the hopes it'll further his presenting career. This video was rank lads ngl.

Ironic how men are only allowed exclusive shows on mainstream media if we act like women. Meanwhile, the "Women's rooms" are all about empowerment and strength. I suffered from depression and mental health problems, but "talking" was relatively useless. It was only when I started taking responsibility, accountability, took up martial arts, hit gym, worked on myself and stopped using BS excuses that I turned my life around. My number 1 advice for men suffering depression would be to stop being a baby, write down what you want your life to look like, find someone who has that and do what it takes to get there. Start by hitting the gym, taking up a martial art or, even better, BOTH. Take responsibility for your own life. What works for women doesn't work for us. There's 13 year old boys in Congo who have to work in coltan mines to provide for their sisters after their mother died of AIDS and their father was killed by rebels. Meanwhile, we got 30 year old men in England who aren't starving, being told to cry about what?

@@steverushaw8761 I actually suffered depression myself and saw a therapist and took medication between the age of 18-22, so the idea that I don't have any understanding of depression or mental health is a complete nonsense. If you don't understand it, fair enough, but don't project your ignorance onto me. The reality is that most males living in England and suffering from depression (without having any neuro-biogical conditions or diagnosed psychosis) are in that state because they aren't taking enough responsibility for their lives. Talking therapies does not allow men to OVERCOME their problems. They just spend years and years talking and never getting better. The cure for men is in fact to "man up", stop being an overgrown child and take responsibility for your pain. If you're living in the greatest environment humans have ever created - modern western society - then the problem is obviously YOU and YOU need to change.
