Cortona, nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, is a magnificent canvas painted with the strokes of Etruscan heritage, Renaissance art, and medieval architecture. This hilltop town, overlooking the lush Val di Chiana, is a repository of history, offering panoramic views that stretch across the Tuscan countryside. The streets of Cortona, lined with historic buildings, lead visitors on a journey through time, from its ancient Etruscan roots to its medieval structures and into the heart of the Renaissance.
Tuscany, as the scenic backdrop to Cortona's allure, is a region globally celebrated not only for its aesthetic beauty-characterized by rolling hills, olive groves, and Chianti vineyards-but also for its monumental contribution to art, culture, and gastronomy. The region is a pivotal site of the Italian Renaissance, nurturing the genius of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, and boasting numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as the historic centers of Florence, Siena, and Pisa.
Cortona is known in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun, also opera performance of ANDRÉ RIEU. Very cultural. It is definitely one of the most beautiful towns to visit in Tuscany Italy. The surrounding area is very gorgeous too. Once you visit there, you may want to buy a house in Cortona just like in the movie. It is rustic and romantic. There are many to choose from country houses, villas, absolutely fantastic luxury houses and farm houses. It's truly a lifestyle of Dolce Vita. If you are in Florence area, I highly recommend Tuscan Side-Trip to Cortona. Hope you enjoy my virtual walking tour in 4k.

Thank you so much for commenting! It is so charming, isn't it? I love it too. 😍
@@TheTravelCentric Yes, it's a wonderful place! ❤Thank you for the wonderful video trips!👍
Cortona, I spent two months here back in 2018. What a beautiful spot, fantastic people. It was a dream to walk and sit in the piazzas, you walked by couple of fantastic spots where I had very fond memories. La logetta fantastic restaurant, molisini wine has the most hospitable and knowledgeable wine gods working there. Those espressos early in the morning and the random encounter with the local characters there. Ah I miss it!
I totally feel you! The smaller town has it's charm. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you for watching and virtual traveling with me!
Love it! I like less crowded place too. 👍👍
I'm so glad to hear that! There's something truly special about exploring less crowded places
It's a very exciting video so I really like it.
You are so kind. Thank you for supporting my channel always! 🙏🏼💕
We felt so much at home in Cortona. Loved it. The ONLY downside is that it is has very hilly streets, some very steep. So older or more infirm visitors could have difficulty getting around. Only one level street ( at central plaza wirh commercial district in front of city hall)
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always helpful to know the ups and downs of a destination before you travel. It is such a cozy place, isn't it? I enjoyed. ❤️Thank you for commenting.
Bellisimo..
Fantastic! I am glad you like the unconventional places! If you find a great hidden gem, please let me know!
great video that inspires, will definitely subscribe to your channel and follow along on your future adventures, have a wonderful day😊🎉❤
Owwww.....you make me so happy! Thank you! 😃❤️ May I ask what kind of places are you interested to watch in the future???
Rustico Cortona é bonito
Si! Rustico!!! 💕🙏🏼
I will be visiting Cortona in a few months and want to do it without a car. I see you took the local bus. Any suggestions on where to learn more about the bus like timetable and cost?
Also have to recommend Ristorante Tempero there.
I just used googld map. In my case, I just checked "direction' from Florence to Cortona center. And it just showed what and when to take. Good luck. I did not eat in Cortona, so I don;t have any restaurant that I could recommend. Have fun and let me know about your travel when you come back!
I'm curious about the front doors of the houses in Cortona. Why are they mostly green? I noticed the same thing during your Capri walk too. Is it some tradition or government instruction?
First of all, thank you so much for watching. That is interesting, even in my latest Amalfi video also have a few doors in green. After all, that is the color of the Italian flag, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.....?????
In this latest video, I see DUOMO door, and one of the residential doors are green too. th-cam.com/video/nY9W1V9ttyM/w-d-xo.html
