- Hiking to Sawtooth Lake is some of the most underrated alpine trekking we have experienced. Its a mountain range you just don't hear about to often. Located in Idaho where we have been living in or truck camper for a few weeks now. We were surprised to see it packed. After that hike we were starving and in so much pain. So we head into Stanley for dinner at The Stanley Supper Club.

I have never heard of a "pika." I immediately thought relative to the chinchilla, Guinea pig family. Nope, their relative to the rabbit, hare family. Pretty cool animal. Another awesome video btw. 👍

Stanley is a town in the Sawtooth Valley in Custer County, Idaho, United States. The population was 63 at the 2010 census; down from 100 in 2000. The center of population of Idaho in 2000 was located in Stanley.

Wow is so right! Spectacular lake and mountains! Western Idaho was our point of entry to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Now we have a better idea of what other areas of Idaho have to offer.

Idaho is such an amazing place to visit and live, I'm sure. My late husband was from Moscow, ID and that college town has an interesting story in itself. Coeur d'Alene will always be my favorite ID town! Lots of good memories there with friends.

If you want a great kayak experience use OTT outfitters. We did the Salmon River with them 4 times.

Great hike 5 miles 1500 ft great views get yourself a sawyer water filter and a cnoc water blatter you will love the combo
I don’t know if it works with almond butter, but I was told that if you store peanut butter upside down, the oil won’t separate.

I would cook the quinoa in the steeped milk next time. That would put the flavor into the quinoa and have a bigger taste!
Beautiful views! My wife and I are in Acadia National Park…yesterday we hiked Beehive trail that is pretty challenging. The views were beautiful but not like Saw Tooth.

The weather in the Rockies cools off mid-August. Deep blue lakes and picas are the bonus for a hike like that. So glad you are enjoying the Sawtooths. Just got home and I may have to get back up there!

So glad to see you guys enjoying my backyard. Born and raised in Idaho, spent many of my summers growing up in the Stanley/Sawtooth area. I have watched the town grow from literally just a couple of buildings at the fork in the highway to the major tourist attraction it is now. I still live in Boise where I grew up and I spend as much time around Stanley as I can.

Wow! You two really pushed yourselves and we appreciate your efforts. Cody, your pain brought back memories of my hikes and backpacking trips that caused me to experience serious pain. I would take three Ibuprofen and in half an hour my pain would be a slight discomfort...worked everything. Those pikas are the cutest little animals. I loved the hikes in the Sawtooth mountain range. We kayaked a few of the waterways there.
Oh, my...Idaho is gorgeous! Cannot wait to see your adventures in the NE this fall. BTW, it would be somewhat out of your way, but the Lake Superior trail/ painted rocks area would be a great place to visit on your way to the NE.
