Update : On v1.9.0b (beta) or any version after v.1.9.0, creating stairs with the second method is easier, as you can just left click on the wall with the paint palette tool and clicking on the far left circle button, it'll automatically create a flat top wall instead of one with all the bumps. This means you don't have to right click on the walls and cut them into pieces anymore (: Update V2. : On v1.10.0b (beta) and when the official patch merges over there is an option (after you flatten a roof) to make it so the merlons or the railings disappear, so exact precision placing and doubling up on buildings for stairs will be no longer, making it easier both ways to make them! (:
Oh that would look incredibly well... I think it may be possible, but it will probably take 2-3 days to craft a small portion of the needed ones depending on design
Thanks for the explanation! So basically: If you don't want railing add a 2nd building in the same exact position as the building with the railing. And 2nd, add pathing stairs for an easier time at first and then add a million more buildings to build up elevation.
Yup~! Although I actually believe sometime later today, or sometime soon, there should be a new patch coming out where there's an option (after you flatten a roof) to make it so the merlons or the railings disappear, so good-bye exact precision placing and doubling up on buildings for stairs! (:
I didn't realize you could force walls to be flush like that by cutting them! Thank you for the guide, I was wondering how people were doing these stairs.
@@cirrestratus Happy I could help! As more people start building more and want to know more complicated soul consuming stuff I want to try my best to help, and handcrafting stairs are easier to show and talk through rather than type out (:
Yes, but if I was the designer I’d never add any of them. Those limitations are encouraging a different approach to gameplay and I think a lot of the ideas people have come up with wouldn’t have happened if they’d supported more precise, engineering style building.
@@diplopanda Not just a time save, but would also massively reduce the number of buildings people use in builds, which would reduce the processing power needed, which could potentially allow for bigger building areas or other knock on effects.
Personally I don't know much about British urban architecture, and within Tiny Glade I keep to more of a fantasy whimsical aesthetic, so I'd honestly suggest perhaps downloading the demo and trying out a skeleton of a British urban house or two before purchasing the game if that's what your thinking and test it out for yourself. . Sorry if this isn't the answer you were seeking for
@@diplopanda Thanks, Love the way this game looks so easy to create buildings might give it a try but was looking for some sort of building game with more options to create a city.
The current methods are unfortunately wayyyy too finicky and computationally heavy. Each staircase is made up of so many pieces interacting that it takes a heavy toll on performance.

Nice guide! Definitely this game needs stairs as a dedicated tool. Would like to do a spiral staircase for example.

Thank you so much for this video. We need more of this, please.
Thanks for answering questions about stairs and also getting rid of the merlons on top of the 'buildings'. I am struggling with that.
@@rgsmess Glad I could be of some help!! (:
I like your narration style! thank you for help

🗣️Sire we will need 5min to build a castle
But sire we need 5years for the stairs 💀

Your voice is so soothing 😌
Really? The amount of slurring was driving me up the wall, I had to mute them.
I think it sounds fake. No woman has such a high voice without faking it.
@@atoxee6867 i also think this grown man is faking it
3 things this game needs
1- stairs
2- copy paste stuff
3- manually adding items (not needing to use doors on the floor to get them)
This was awesome and super useful!! Thanks heaps :)
this game desperately needs stairs, duplicate item and group items.

@@yerald_a nhaaa, people would've come up with even better designs if what I mentioned was added.
@@yerald_a ok the other two yeah, but stairs?
I agree on all points. But I also wish I could make a windmill. I think a Tiny Glade windmill tool would really allow for even more creative builds.
thanks you so much I couldn't understand how to do this
Hi Diplopanda, I have made waterfalls ( by ) using fences.
this is very helpful but i hope the devs would just give us stairs lmao
I have fallen down the stairs many times
womp womp (:
I once punched a monkey
Thanks for the great tutorial! It would be so nice if you could flatten the roof one more step instead of using two blocks to remove the merlons
That would be really nice, saving us a lot of time in the long run 😭

ty for the tutorial
i have a friend that i pushed down the stairs many times
could you pleaseee do a bridges video ? i feel like mine look so blocky

bridge tutorial?
how did you change the size of the box and tower before placing them?
Holding left click and dragging will prompt up a white outline with the size that it'll be~! (:
@@diplopanda thank you!
