@@TelfordKoiPond cheers Phill Pondwater seems to be testing fine now after a week the fish still seem a bit skittish as they haven’t seen people in such a long time Thank you for watching we appreciate it
What an awesome thing you guys all did to save that pond and the fish! Those poor things survived in that dreadful water now they can thrive in the new setup. Job well done Arron, Leo & Nicky. Bet the owner is super happy with the beautiful accent to their table area there at the pub. 😊👍
Hi Aaron & Leo, A other great video on the pond at the pub I haven't seen anything like it in all the years I have been keeping fish pond's mate. Steve
Neither had we!! the water was thick. Prior to that video i had diltuted the water with a 50% water change when i dragged the net though the water you could not lift it out it was that dence Cheers Steve Arron & Leo
You just can't get the help these days 😂 I did a pond clean years ago that was a huge kidney shape with a bridge over the centre that was at least 10 strides across and 7 to 8 foot deep. There was a goid 2 foot of silt. We had to rescue over 250 yes 250 tench fingerings in the silt. Concrete pond. Pond was built by the previous owner, some pro boxer. Took us days to refill, after we repaired and sealed the concrete. Wicked video as well, love these type of videos
My lad was asking all we when are we going todo it. As soon as the filter is here mate he was buzzin all day. Why didn’t help was the pub still open and everyone sticking there head in while we was filming lmfao lots of editing was needed
Great work guys 👍 What a transformation. Did you have to reseal the walls, or were they still OK? Hope you're both well, and hope to meet you at the show at the weekend.
Brilliant vid fellas. I too had to replace my liner after 25 year, so it did ok I suppose. But hell what a job. But now like you say, new pond syndrome. The dreaded green water has come to greet me. I heard you say about a "Pond bomb". Which bomb would you recommend? Oh and greetings from sunny Doncaster. 👍👍👍👍
@@mustangbelly1 atm I’m trying a new oase one you can see a little clip of it on the next video at the Newark show video. But the bacto plus psb prob the go to I’ve used both on this build mate
As someone with over 40 years of experience in pond construction, I'd like to share some advice. I wouldn't recommend the pipes you're using because they tend to break easily. I strongly suggest adding filter substrate to the pond, as it's essential for the growth of beneficial bacteria, which are crucial for preventing algae. It's also important to let the pond run for 1 to 2 weeks before introducing fish. When adding fish, never just place them directly into the pond. Instead, let them acclimate by placing them in a container with a small amount of pond water and gradually adding more water over 5 to 10 minutes. This helps prevent stress for the fish. Lastly, filling the pond with tap water isn't ideal, as it contains very few minerals. While the water hardness might be good, it may also contain a small amount of chlorine, which isn't beneficial for the pond.
@@turbotim129 Because the sides have a bio film on there that eats ammonia!! Changing the filter for new one there would be no biological media in the entire pond. With the amount of fish with no bio In the filter they would all die. I said to them if they want it cleaning I’ll do it for your filter has matured

The filter was much, much too big for the size of the pond and its bioload. Buy an aquarium for the pub!
Im sure im not the only one thinking this but now the pond is clear won't a heron see the fish and eat them 😬😬
Whilst the pond was empty, why not jetwash the sides? If a jobs worth doing surely it's worth doing right, although im sure the fish are alot happier.
