Nah, the Germans had the best airmen, by a wide margin. The Finns had the second best, again by a wide margin. This phenomenon has actually been explained: Both Germany and Finland couldn't afford to give the fighter pilots any rest or move the best pilots to training duty, to train new ones. The best pilots simply needed to keep flying nonstop because of a lack of capable men. Thus they accumulated incomparable amounts of aerial victories during the war. The Allied pilots, however, didn't need to fly ungodly combat hours and their experience was smartly transferred to new recruits. Such sadness is behind the glory of the best fighter aces.

Suomalaisten hevoset oli suhteessa pienempiä, mutta hiton sitkeitä eikä tainnu paljonkaan säikkyä ottaen huomioon että keisarillisten ratsuväkirynnäköt otettiin vastaan aika kylmän rauhallisesti ja linja pysyi aika hyvin kasassa. Tosin siinäkohtaa tappelussa oli mukana myös liivinmaalaisia ja suomalaista jalkaväkeä.
Tästä tällä kertaa kunnia myös Ruotsin kuninkaalle joka tiesi juuri tämän kaiken ja tietoisesti laskelmoi suomalaisten hirveän rynnäkön, hitaan mutta tasaisen enemmän tai vähemmän yllätyshyökkäyksenä.

One of the oldest (if not the oldest) military march in the world. My favourite with Jääkarien Marssi. My grand father was a train mechanic during the Winter War. I visited the cemetary of Vantaa not so long ago and there was about four brothers buried there all killed during the war. War is nasty, war is brutal, but when it was inflicted upon Finland, she defended herself bravely.

@thebritishww2man, Remains of the Finnish dragoon regiments were abolished in the 80.s. The spirit of the Finn dragoon regiments is kept by individual riding schools. So, no they do not wear the helmets anymore. I still have my grandfathers unit insignia and medals, so the spirit still lives. But realistically speaking, the era of the ligh finnish dragoon cavalry is over.
Sorry for responding in English. My Swedish skills don't bring justice. This march in it's current form is from 1800's. It was written from memory of a march heard in 1700. In 1800's Finnish conductor Lauri Hämäläinen created an new version of it with added parts from Finnish traditional songs. The march was quite unknown until the lyrics were made by Zacharias Topelius in 1874. Most of the versions you hear of this march are based on that. There is an version of this march however in it's possible original form in one of the Finnish Guards CD's, it sounds way different.

Toi takki on tosiaan kyllä uustuotantoa (soittokunnasta lainassa), tosin jo aikoinaan noita takkeja oli mooonia erilaisia (kankaatkin vaihteli). vrt sarkainen miehistöversio - lyhyt ja ohuemmasta kankaasta tehty "ratsastuskelpoinen" upseeritakki (jota toi lähimpänä). Upseerien "keekoilu- takeissa" usein myös myös korkeampi ja jäykempi kaulus. Ihan orginaaliversioita joku kuutisen erilaista ollut niskassa. Ihan historiaa asiasta: Hei hoplaaa googlaus antaa kivan sivun ihan oikeaan historiaan :)

Se toinen vuosiluku ...1918 ... liittyy sitten ihan toiseen taisteluun. t. Tuhoojahusaari

Toi takki on tosiaan kyllä uustuotantoa (soittokunnasta lainassa), tosin jo aikoinaan noita takkeja oli mooonia erilaisia (kankaatkin vaihteli). vrt sarkainen miehistöversio - lyhyt ja ohuemmasta kankaasta tehty "ratsastuskelpoinen" upseeritakki (jota toi lähimpänä). Upseerien "keekoilu- takeissa" usein myös myös korkeampi ja jäykempi kaulus. Ihan orginaaliversioita joku kuutisen erilaista ollut niskassa. Ihan historiaa asiasta:
