I am embarrassed to not know of Barry's brilliance before watching this today. WOW. What an XETRA-ordinary musician. And to conquer the opposition with these performances at THIS event? Holy Shit!!!!! I'm following him and will be at his next concerts. Breath taking piano playing. Thank you to however uploaded this.

gave me chills at about 3:35!! Met him...and told him how he was magnificent in the competition...but he must be so tired hearing ppl bring up '86. lol.
Barry Douglas' performance of Pictures remains the most thrilling interpretation that I have ever heard.
Have you heard Horowitz's early rendition? That's also a stunner.
Have just been to hear Barry Douglas perform the Appassionata this evening. Great to see where he started out. He is still seriously good.

Congratulations Barry Douglas and The Camerata Ireland.
I was blessed to have a piano masterclass with him. I like his method of practice. He practices without pedal, slowly.
I was surprised he didn’t have much to say about the second piece I played for him!
I played for him a few times too! He has such great insights
