Thanks a lot Sir, that was really encouraging, I saw your real heartfelt zeal to create bonsai n love for plants, n asked you the question, now I can start my long journey to try to make bonsai as much as I can, I just love plants, biggest wonder is how God germinates a baby plant
Mr. Saunders... the amazing thing about you beside your knowledge is the ability you have of treating all tree and plants with that incredible care of yours...despite their size species or where they come from. Its something admirable. You make the diference. I can only hope that you stick around for a long time because i have been learning so much and i wanna learn more. Thank you for that.
Great seeing you work with the trees the rabbits chewed down and you did not skip a beat. I love the idea of larches, but every zone has it's limitations. Thanks for the show. I enjoyed it a lot.
Hi Nigel, when you return those pots to Johnathan could you possibly do an update on that silver birch forest you both put together. It would be very interesting to see how this has developed - not least because I shamelessly copied what you guys did and this would set my expectations for how it might develop 😁 Keep up the great work.
We are still only getting high temps of 3 to 8C can hardly wait to move some trees and myself outside more lol.Luv that if Larch Forest!!.Great video as usual.
Love the trees and Wow your brothers Eddy Merck bike is the bomb How Could You Forget Bobke Bob Roll he is still active does TH-cam videos announces some of the big races was team 7-Eleven
I love all your root work! It makes me so anxious, but the trees seem to thrive on it, so I am not going to argue with it. That larch forest is still my favourite, as I watch mine go into winter dormancy here in Victoria, Australia. I hope it pops come September!
Nigel, at ~18:16, you gave a description of "...what bonsai is..." As you raked out the the larch seedling's roots for the first time, what you said sounded like good parenting advice: "...it's just about refinement; do as much as you can...as you work on it..." That, along with, protection from harsh extremes of the environment; watering and feeding; ensuring enough room and good drainage and; training by nipping wild, poorly directed growth early and pruning to keep things neat, sounds like good general advice especially for novices. Don't you think? Maybe a book! How to Care and Grow Great Bonsai and Children: The Nigel Sanders Way?? It's a thought. Thanks for the advice, joy and entertainment.
Only just started my bonsai journey after suffering a stroke last year, I know being over 50 is a bit late to start but it has really helped me adjust and has a fantastic calming effect. I found your videos from seeing some of Peter Chan’s Canada trip and I have to say your videos and information is just out of this world! I am now a fan of yours so thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with newcomers like myself. Can I please ask a question, where did you get that lovely looking brass rake from, it looks amazing, would love to have one if they are available, if not then I can always dream ha ha. Absolutely in love with your Larch forest.
5 C°, that's our daytime high atm! 😄 People were already drinking coffee and eating ice cream outside today despite the cold weather, everyone is so tired of the late spring.
Spring a beautiful time! Bonsai Spring in beautiful growth... anew! Enjoy! Don't take it for granted... time is short! Thanks for your videos and the bike (I hobby with beautiful bikes also). Make it fun or don't do it!!
I know that for a training tool you seem to think that wire is like the Japanese feel about using four trees in one pot. Even if you do almost all of your training by clip and grow, there is still some places where wire could be useful. One such place is with those trees that were chewed off by rabbits. you could train the tallest side shoot to a nearly verticle position for a short time. In nature larch trees are strongly upright. they are conifers and usually resemble sruce in appearence. This is very evident in areas where both species share habitats.
Hello how often you water also can blue spruce stay indoor under skylight and growing light I started them from seeds inside the house thank you,Robert:)
I water different amounts, depending on the weather, in the hot summer, three times a day, in winter much less. It's best to wait until the soil just begins to dry out , then water the tree again. The Blue Spruce should have a cold winter too keep the tree dormant. This is best for the long term health of the tree.
Always nice to marvel at your collection. All the year I’ve been following you I am wondering have you ever tried to bonsai an olive tree? They grow slowly but make excellent bonsai material, especially when they mature. Give it a try one day! Cheers Daniel
Sir we don't get bonsai soil, can we use ordinary garden soil mixed with construction little stones, using small flat pots and repotting at intervals trimming tap root and combing and trimming lateral roots, I would love to make a bonsai
Sounds good Renu, it sounds like you are doing all the right things to create a nice bonsai! The soil you are using is probably best for your climate and growing conditions.
I like those Rabbit styled larches

Stunning bike! You can't beat steel for a smooth ride 👍
It’s not just bonsai and I love it!

The rabbits did a great job styling them! 😂
Had the exact same training pots delivered today! 🤓

That old bicycle intro at end was🤟🔥🤘👌. I want one of those!
That was one awesome bike!!
I like the rabbit styled larches. I have a squirrel styled black walnut. Can't say i was as happy as you though.
The rabbits have styled them! haha, what an altruistic attitude. Lets see how they grow :D
Yes, my rabbit assistants stay busy!!
Cool bicycle.
I’m a bit jealous of the number of larches you have. But, I am happy to have the one I do have😀 thanks for this video!
Awesome video as always

Ultimate “Bench Envy” Thanks
Nice to see the trees leafing out. Like a breath of fresh air.
Really enjoy your videos!
I lost so many trees this year😭
Quite happy in Texas tho, and still have many trees! Glad to see your benches looking well.
I have those exact same training pots. They work very well and look nice too
same, i got those 6.5 and 9inch ones i think. for cheap off amazon
Same here. I love them. And they look not so eye-catching.

I only saw the last minutes of the premiere, now looked at it all over again. Very nice.

Wow it was pouring. Filling up your rain barrels.
Does that make the hard-pruned larches bun-sai trees? lol!
Excellent advise on what to do after planting your tree, misting and watering.
That's a lot of larches to repot. You could make several forest plantings with that many trees.
Catagorized from larchest to huchest nice bike btw man talking with one mr saunders
Just missed the premier. Nice larch seedlings. Your trainees(rabbits) are still learning. 47F/9C right now here is Chicago this morning.
I just got a bunch of those plastic bonsai pots as well. Great for the price.

Did you find that you didn't need to drill in extra drainage holes for the rootmaker pots?
i had some success with larch cuttings. i stuck them in coco jiffy pots and placed them in a transparent tupperware box

Hi nigel, can I see the up dates of this plant. Thank you

The rabbits did well then!
Your “secret” is safe with me. BUT, I will copy it. ;-)
We’re can I have that pot.?
One question I have been wanting to ask for a while, I love All your videos !!!! Why do you use that Damn Glass top to root prune??
the spin table he has? metal
I hope your knee is okay
Can you please turn on your closed captions?
One could make a bonsai tree solely pruned by rabbits 😁
Bom dia, Flor do dia!
My dad drove the team car for 7 eleven a few times!
Awesome, I bet that was tricky driving, so many people lining the road!
@@TheBonsaiZone he said on some of the downhill sections he could barely go fast enough to stay in front
