That inside the park homer gets me every time. Imagine playing at Yankee Stadium, the most storied franchise ever, the crowd roaring and cheering you on as you sprint across each bag until a climactic end at the plate, the stadium absolutely rocking because of what you just did. Gotta be one of the best feelings ever.
I've always felt that the inside-the-park homer was one of the great underrated moments of that 2009 season. He'd come into that game as a replacement for Johnny Damon, who was ejected for arguing a called third strike, and then he just hits a bloop that turned into so much more thanks to Span's misplay and Brett's tremendous speed. That led to a pretty awesome weekend of walkoffs, and was truly the first time that season where I felt like they had something special.
That’s only half of the story man. Before the game he went to a hospital and a little girl with cancer made him a bracelet and told him it would help him hit a home run and his next game he hit that inside the park home run
I remember #1 so well. I missed the game that day cuz I had school and when I came home I saw the highlights and I got excited when I saw Gardner hit that go ahead 3-run HR down to their final strike
@@dougbrowne9890 no it shouldn’t but ur stupid for thinking so PS I know ur being scarcastic and I DONT CARE he isn’t a god but he is still very good to be able to get 100 hrs and 250 SB about 1 percent of players who play 1 game hit 100 home runs.
@@danielreshef5299 As a Yankees fan, I agree, to a degree. I say that because the Yankees only scored 3 runs in the 4 games in Houston. You can't win that way. The Astros offense definitely cheated in the series, but their cheating had no direct effect on the Yankees offense not producing.

That is 1 of two of his opposite field homeruns his 2nd can’t this year in the 2020 season
Underrated player. Fun to watch
Yeah Brett just came threw rn at against the royals big time 101 mph off the bat.
So did that bad hop. I’ll take it
@@7curto credited with the hit
Good, can’t put an error on the SS there when the ball takes a wicked hop like that. Brett with 2 big extra inning knocks
Definitely!!!
Favorite baseball player of all time 💯. Started watching in 09, and Gardners play every game he’s in completely won me over
That home run against the Cubs was so hype. Early in the season against the defending world champs, freakin wild

His game-tying homer vs Oakland is #11

Gardy is the underdog...I enjoy watching him when he comes to town and whoop on the white sux....Go Yanks🔥🔥🔥
Gardner is the consummate professional and a hell of a player
They should just let the man play out his career in NY and when he's ready he'll retire
That series against the Cubs...sweeping the World Champion...that’s when I realized 2017 may not just be a rebuilding year
Brett Gardner has more career walkoff homeruns than Derek Jeter.
Those two are the only Yankees to have 100hrs and 250sbs
@@moonjae-in12thpresidentofr20 Wow! Really? That should be front page news, EVERY DAY!

The one against the Cubs was crazy
That moment was the start of their run in 2017 when they were supposed to be "rebuilding".
superbrownbrown that run should’ve ended with a showdown with LA. Fucking Asterisks.
The best part about it is, it didn't even look like it was a HR off the bat. Then it just carried.

I was driving home from work when he hit that. I started pounding on the steering wheel in excitement a little too hard.

How many late game HRs did this guy have? Jesus!
5:25 and absolute rrr rr- line drive
This video told me Gardy was clutch
I was at number 6
About the hot against the Red Sox closer to sweep the Red Sox.
Remember when we weren't prisoners in our own homes
Gardner is better than Jorge Posada
