Love your content, especially seeing a father/son duo working on it. You seem to have hit all the bikes I'm looking for, especially this GT now. Keep it up!
I've been going back and forth with deciding on which color to go for. I'd pretty much settled on the red bike (day-glo orange in reality) until viewing this video whereby the yellow logo on the after-market Maxxis tires looks awesome with the yellow bike!
@@thebikefam Absolutely. It's of course subjective but the yellow when coupled with those after-market tires is the winning combination for me. I'd be swapping out the yellow grips for black ones to match the seat, tires and stem though. Yes, I'd be removing all of the pads because to me BMX have always too kiddie with the pads on. Albeit in this specific instance I might leave on the top tube pad as its mostly black color neatly breaks up the large expanse of yellow by just enough to look good in tandem with the aforementioned other black parts.
Yeah, it’s my wife’s bike, there are a few things I would do, but this is how she likes it. I did insist on the handlebars, and since she likes the grips, I got some black and yellow grip donuts. I’m not sure if they were in that video, but they look sweet
Those grips CAN last a while if you wring wipe them with a rag in diluted clothing detergent and water once a week if you ride a lot, always rinse them well so the detergent doesn’t break down the rubber. BTW, Those pads are actually reflective at night. My wife got me the exact same pads with a blue logo for my birthday a couple years ago, I found out when I was on a nighttime ride. Pretty handy seeing since my bike is all black.
Thank you. It’s my wife’s bike and she wanted the chrome bars. Robert and I thought black might be the way to go, but I bought both, I’m going to post a video on how to polish the black ones to a gloss paint finish and put them on the interceptor.
Mackcycles.com was the seller. I don’t think they have more but they seem to have good deals. I’ve seen it for about $350 I want to say from planetbmx.com or city grounds I forget which
Man that bike looks awesome!!

I actually purchased the orange/red but for whatever reason I never received it. Honestly, I’m glad, the yellow is awesome.

Thank you! I’ve noticed that on the pads as well as the back of the seat (on the bikes that shipped with pads). Pretty cool.
Good video. I’m trying to decide which 26 to buy, can I ask how tall you are to get a perspective on the bike?
Yes, I am 6'1"
sweet looking bike, although maybe the black bars would match better. for under 300 with a disc brake cant beat it.

City grounds has them for $350
is it good quality?
Every time I ride that bike, I think it feels great. It’s high-quality, and with the price taken into account, it’s an even better deal.
