As long as the rest of the car is in good working order, this is a great option for set and forget. I've had it on my F90 M5, I suspected the car had issues with the fuel pump straight off the lot due to some issues it was having and the extra demand of these maps made it obvious. Changed out the fuel pump and everything is perfect, low 2.8s to 60, run map1 without waste gates though now I'm tempted.
Yeah it is but on vehicles past 2021 the ECU/DME needs to be unlocked. I for one wouldn’t waste my time shipping my DME out for $3600 (for X5M) just to unlock it to use BM3. That’s a waste of money for a fix I would use to just clear CEL codes using catless downpipes. Granted others may do it for other reasons, but in my case BM3 would be used for a stage 2 tune and CEL clearing. That is not worth $3600 to get my DME unlocked when I can purchase JB4 and just temporarily clear the code through the Bluetooth app.
With the Bluetooth adapter you can change maps on the fly anytime right? And from what I remember JB4 doesn’t clear the downpipe code anymore right? Looking to get one for my B58 540i. Bmw warranty can’t flash right now
Do you still have this vehicle ? I saw one forsale and the original dealership on the car fax was same dealership you got yours from, also had the blue front bumper reflector changed, I’m wondering if it’s the same vehicle if you sold yours. Lmk thanks.
Why not just take it to a tuner? Is this just a generic tune that comes with it that they tuned on their car in different conditions that are not the same as the conditions your car is in? Better off getting a custom tune much safer than this and probably more power.
@@michaeltaylor6561 that's fair but the tune they ship is "one size fits all" style it was tuned in completely different conditions that tune could cause more damage then its worth. But to each there own I guess
@@Spotlightexotics Can’t just take it right to a tuner. Both DME’s are locked, so both DME’s would need to be sent to Femto Russia to be unlocked then shipped back to the USA to then work directly with a tuner to send me a custom flash etc. JB4 doesn’t need any of that and is customizable based on data logging, so you can fine tune the tune parameters on their custom map. 10+ year long JB4 user here over many turbo BMW’s - have always worked flawlessly with tons of power.
@@BMWFanaticFemto moved so they aren’t in Russia anymore. They are in Finland now. I sent my ecu to them and had zero issues. Supra was down for 2 weeks.
It Sure is, my F97 had the DEM unlocked so I able to do BM3, but my F95 is locked and I AM NOT sending my 2 DME's to Finland, so this type of piggyback is the only option.

Not M5 specific but will the JB4 cause a check engine light on BMW's? It seems the ECU is so uptight that any variance will cause a cel.
No. If you have catless downpipes the cel will appear until you install the jb4 and delete the code.
