This is the bike I learned to ride on. 1983 V65 Magna. I miss it man. No other bike rides like this. Seriously. It’s definitely a love it or hate it bike.
Yes agreed! I didn’t really care for it at first, it was just a bike for my wife and I to ride around on. after the exhaust and other stuff I did, I love this bike! Super fun nice loud exhaust! Fun bike!
Cheers man!😊 Connecting from Germany here. Planing to get me a V45 or V65. That sissybar/rack you got mounted looks really wicked. Is that an original? I couldn’t tell but are you able to mount sidebags on that thing? Stay safe 👍
Hey! The sissy bar isn’t original but it match’s the bike really well! Originally they came with a sissy bar that could slide forward for the “Driver”. I don’t think there are any mounts for saddle bags but it would be perfect for bags over that go over the seat! The v45 is a great bike and very fast! It isn’t super comfortable stock but I put on some different handle bars that are straighter and that made a huge difference when on the freeway! If you are touring on the freeway, get a windshield too! Other than that it’s a great bike! I wish you the best luck on your search!
I feel that mods should be dyno'd, especially with the exhaust. To see if your losing power or gaining any power over full range. Sounds good.l am glad you headed back. That rain, hail, snow hitting your face &/or hands does hurt. As for handlebar changes, glad you didn't need a change to your lines.
Have you ever ridden v65 Magna? I wonder if there is a big difference between v45 and v65. Specification table numbers suggest not such a big difference...
I haven’t ridden a v65 Magna but what I have heard is that they are as fast or faster then some 600cc bikes. V65 has an 1100 cc v4 making 120 hp but I think the bike is 550 or 600 lbs. I would like to get my hands one one someday!
I bought it from a guy parting out an 83 v45, it’s I’ve been finding it’s really hard to find parts for these bikes. I’ll keep an eye out if I find any for a 3rd gen!
@@OlsonsGarageappreciate it. Even a 4-2 would work but the only non discontinued exhaust is a cobra slash cut that sounds like ass lol. eBay notifications are on 🤘🏼

Hey is this bike a good drag bike to build?
Also is it actually as fast as it says online
@@Semajeshorter the v45 is a fast bike, the v65 I have heard is the really fast bike! I would build a drag race v65!

v45 is much better than v65, they are more reliable
i could not stomach winter roads on my vulcan lol
It wasn’t too bad because it was around 37 degrees out but toward the end it started feeling a little sketchy!

I agree, I’m gonna put new plugs in, ride it and see how they look. Just to make sure I’m not too lean.
I see the two stroke 💪
It’s all about 2 strokes! I’ve got a handful of kx250 and banshee videos! Check them out!

Did you fab the exhaust yourself? Buy it from somewhere? I have a 3rd gen Magna and want to do a 4 into 1 as well

It sounds like you separated the exhausts for each cylindre
V45...thought it was a V65
Yep a v45! Maybe one day I’ll get a 65
