      I bought a good quality soundbar for my pc setup a couple of months ago, I'm using that 90% of the time

      Speakers for quick gaming sessions. Headphones for the day-longs.

    Got a set of Edifier R1700BTs for son's setup and blown away by the sound quality - for me, not so keen on the 'Gaming' and 'RGB' bits so went with S1000MkIIs for me - such good quality sound from them.

    I still choose the G2000 because you can bring it anywhere, it is a 12volt can use in my car, cheap for everyone. G5000 is a 220 volt powered, have to buy 220v to 12v converter, expensive than DIY speakers, no bass output.

    Good review.
    8:20 "... the illusion of high-end quality ..." probably pretty much nails it 😉

    If you want some good edifier speakers that sound the same or better just buy the 1855DB model. No stupid "led technology" or "gaming" gimmicks, it has a bass and a treble knobs to adjust sound to exactly your liking. Also has BT, aux, optical. It has a remote! and best of all its half the price. I love how just by adding gaming and leds to an existing product they can then sell it for double the price.

    They look really good, however they also look big so will take up a lot of desk space. Think I’ll be sticking with my Sennheiser Headphones .

      Yea they look pretty good but goddamn, one of those is as big as my case...and $350? Wtf, complete joke

      I stopped using any speakers when I got my HD6XX paired with a Modi/Magni Heresy Schiit Stack.

    I use Genelec G One and F One with my PC. I love the sound quality. Small size but lots of sound.

    Hello, thanks for this coverage of the speaker, I look forward to hearing your experience between two types that I frequented a lot, the first is from Edifier which is G5000, the second is Arena9, the features of the G5000 were 192 frequency with terrible purity, but only two speakers, slow response of the buttons, and there is no application for controlling via the computer .
    As for the Arena, it was a surround sound without the highest frequency or purity of 192, the price is very high, you need an independent power supply for the rear speakers, the features are an application to control, with 5.1 surround speakers.
    I want to hear from you more and would like your advice and opinion.
    Thank you

    It think it's not worth it to upgrade from G2000. My G2000 still works perfectly, enough sound and bass in small speakers.

    What's strange is I loved the Creative Kratos S5 for their unusual effects and the built in dac. Truly they were done well. Why the heck creative abandoned them I've no idea

      Creative has a long history filled with bad decisions. I used to love their sound products since SoundBlaster 16.

    Is there someething similar that has 24bit 96khz support along with Music/Movie and Flat mode for monitoring is there such multi purpose speaker out there? by Edifier prefreblay?

    I want these as they would look good with my xsx, ps5 set-up, but I got the PEACHTREE M-25's that are amazing and I don't know if I should pull the trigger on these Hecate.
    Decisions, decisions......

    Sticking with my Old T40's from Creative. No need for the accent English voice or vroom noise on speakers.

    • @wombat5252
      @wombat5252 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brah the voice from the speakers doesn't even remotely sound English. It's an Asian. A Chinese or Japanese or possibly a Korean.

    • @TimoteonSK

      I had T40 from creative and needed something Bigger and better. After purchase these G5000 speakers, T40 sounds like toy :) so i am happy. And just 260euros (open box) and 320 (new one) in my country. Must have.

    omg, these speakers are very cringe.
    Motor sound when power on? Why?

  • @MarkLumsley

    The voice of the speakers reminds me of the Swedish Chef from Family Guy!
    "HALLU! WOULD YOU LIEK TO TAEST MY COOPCOCK?"
    Sorry, I can't take these speakers seriously, I'm really sorry! xD

    Andy what a fantastic honest review: review you covered everything very well...
    I have a question 🤔
    I can't wear headphones unfortunately..
    but want a good active bookself speaker..
    if you had to buy once which one would you get 🤔
    I play pc cod and battlefield.
    volume low: but want to hear footsteps: not bothered about bass and explosions to much if that helps.
    any advice from a pro.
    would be amazing.
    thank you sir

    I'm quite sure my Roth Oli RA1 + Indeed TA2020 + Soundblaster Play!3 USB (total outlay c. £140) sounds better than these by a wide margin, if lacking all the connectivity (and maybe power, but I've grown out of using neighbour-baiting volume levels). £350 spent on 'separates' will buy you a very high quality, _durable and reliable_ little stereo (2.0 or 2.1) system, which is the way I'd always go, but each to his own.

    I don't understand. The S1000 cost less and are about 18 million times less annoying. If you have enough disposable income to spend on speakers at this price, how are you spending it on these?

    It's like they learned nothing from the past complaints, same annoying startup sound, now even more the tacky "gaming" branding, something that not even Razer does this with their speakers.
    It's extremely stereotypical "edgy gamer" and disappointing seeing how Edifiers normal speakers still look better and more appealing.

  • @alfye7647
    @alfye7647 ปีที่แล้ว

    The startup sound and mode input sounds are a total nonstarter....I wanted these and then I heard that trash. Pretty disappointing.

    I know reviewing speakers is rather difficult, but as a plus your microphone doesn't sound too bad on my soundbar. Outside of that, these speakers have a very budget, trying too hard, cheap look about them and being forced to pick between movie, game or music pre-sets is not a good move and only adds to them being not a good option,

  • @gunstargizmo
    @gunstargizmo ปีที่แล้ว

    They have a brutal accent. Reminds me of my Sennheiser buds. It's almost like they're trying to make them sound like elitist snobs. Also, you can turn off the effects and voice. Read the manual.

  • @Natepwnsu

    Hdmi provides better sound then a optical cable. Also gold plating the usb or something similar does nothing. I don't think it's even worth mentioning at this point. It's also probably not gold either. So ya.

  • @scotttait2197
    @scotttait2197 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These are a joke ... hdmi pass through would be good on sonething this price ... that voice us just criminal what version of English was that ... 1970s euro comedy???... gaming ooh.... tacky although I disagree about optical being Inferior to hdmi... they are both digital its just more audio encoding can be sent via hdmi as more bandwidth

    • @wombat5252
      @wombat5252 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's an Asian. You can't hear the accent? Most likely Chinese but could have been a Japanese person. All this crap is made in China so it's not odd that they would just use a random person off the streets in China to voice it.

    'Gam mood' 'Bluetooth impood' 🤣. Imagine spending £350 on this Chinese trash. You're paying about £300 more than they're worth just to have gaming written on the side. Laughable.

      Yea but this is for gAmErS bro...like not regular sound, gaming noises come out of these!
      Omg the voice they used for the input switching is like..wtf are they trolling

  • @wombat5252

    LMAO They had a Chinese or Korean or Japanese person (an Asian) voice the modes. This product is definitely not ''hand made'' it's just another product from China. Lol
